Babel

Just A Thought

thought

Eternal One: Will you look at that! The people are all together on this. With one language they are able to start this kind of project. This is only the beginning of what they will do. Soon they will think they can accomplish anything and everything on their own. Let’s go down and break this up! If We confuse their language, they won’t be able to understand each other’s words. Genesis 11: 6-7 The Voice

I am just as human as they were and I am thinking, that building a tower gave them a false sense of power, a strength that was finite and would not last. God saw where their assumption would lead them, He knew they would falsely deduce that they could do anything and everything apart from Him. He knew where this deception would lead. God knew their human strength and ingenuity would dead end. He knew that as they kindled their own fire and walked by the light of this man made fire, that this fire would burn out and they would sit in the darkness and torment of human failure. God did not want this for them. I can see how wanting the newness of human experience can trick anyone. Yes, the newness of the freedom they had found, it exhilarated their flesh and they truly believed their human intuition was invincible and God wanted to protect them from this foolish presumption, He wanted to keep them from running after experiences and expectations where they had no finite control over the outcome. Finite flesh not bowed in subjection to God is subject to big failure!

God knew their human condition was not able to stand up against the wiles of their enemy. God knew they needed His Protection, Provision, Revelation, Love and Purpose. So, God intervened, in that miraculous, delivering way of HIS, and He divinely interrupted them in a special way only He could. God kept them from pursuing their own destiny without Him. God caused them to need Him once again and sent them forward, dispersing them according to His Kingdom plan. Of course their flesh wanted a choice, they wanted to choose and make their own human destiny, walk according to their own way. Sound familiar? Yet, thankfully, God supernaturally interrupted their plan, He knew HIS Infinite Will was a much, much better plan for them and Babel was the pressing forward of God’s Will for them.

O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things, even purposes planned of old, and fulfilled in faithfulness and truth. Isaiah 25:1

Thoughts come and go, but when the Holy Spirit speaks, they are highlighted by our human senses and they are the beginning of a transformation of our soul, that paints a God characteristic on our spirit that remains forever. Pay attention to the bites of God Thoughts that come in your Miraculous Musings with God, they are simply-significantly purposeful.
