Shed Self-Righteousness

“There are sins much more serious than socio-pathologies which really are mental illnesses, whereas self-righteousness is an illness of the soul.” Quote By― R. Alan Woods

As it is written, none is righteous, just and truthful and upright and conscientious, no, not one. Romans 3:10 Amplified Bible

“The deceitfulness of the heart of man appears in no one thing so much as this of spiritual pride and self-righteousness. The subtlety of Satan appears in its height, in his managing persons with respect to this sin. And perhaps one reason may be that here he has most experience; he knows the way of its coming in; he is acquainted with the secret springs of it: it was his own sin. Experience gives vast advantage in leading souls, either in good or evil.” Quote By: ― Jonathan Edwards, The Religious Affections

We are all messed up like a person compromised with impurity; even all our right efforts are like soiled rags. We’re drying up like a leaf in autumn and are blown away by wrongdoing. Isaiah 64:6

My Miraculous Musings: Only Jesus Can Open Our Ears To Truth!

We must arrive at this conviction all by ourselves and not be told by someone else, this is when it matters eternally so! This is what simply-significantly matters. It is the difference between finite knowing and Infinite knowing. It is the difference between earthly and heavenly revelation. When people want to draw you into a conversation because they are looking to justify their sin, step outside of that circle, you don’t belong there. This is a conversation that is needed between them and God. We have no right to tell people why we think they are sinners, because we are all sinners, messed up with the impurity of the human condition, an ailment that only Jesus can deliver and heal us from. We can change a person’s mind about themselves, but we can’t change their heart, only Jesus can. KimberlyMac

As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. Romans 14:1 ESV

“If you had asked a Pharisee, “Are all men sinners?” they would have said, “Yes-except for us” And they looked down upon the publican and the harlot. But Jesus looked down upon the Pharisee, for He knew that they were just as sinful. The Pharisee, who to his knowledge had never broken the law, was just as sinful as the harlot who had broken it every night. And yet is there anyone who has never broken the law? No, I didn’t say that, I said that the Pharisee may have never consciously broken the law. If you strike a compromise with your own conscience, you can learn to look at yourself in the glass and see something better than is there.” Author A.W.Tozer Excerpt From: The Attributes Of God Volume 2

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Matthew 16:24-25

“When you think yours is the only true path you forever chain yourself to judging others and narrow the vision of God. The road to righteousness and arrogance is a parallel road that can intersect each other several times throughout a person’s life. It’s often hard to recognize one road from another. What makes them different is the road to righteousness is paved with the love of humanity. The road to arrogance is paved with the love of self.” Author― Shannon L. Alder

My Miraculous Musings: Turn From Self-Righteousness

When we turn from self-righteousness to fully face God, He puts on us the righteousness of Jesus. Self-righteousness puts up walls between us and others, when we tear it down, we see so much more of God’s heart, we experience His passion for others and suddenly there are no prejudices, assumptions, presumptions, there is only Jesus, only love. So we need to shed the self-righteousness and run back to God being wholly-holy His and be sent by HIM, with His love to tear down the walls and point people to God, to His Hope, to the future He is holding out to them.
