Contentment Tested?

This Is The Day The Eternal God Has Made For Us! Let Us Celebrate And Be Happy Today. Psalm 118:24

My Miraculous Musings: I am particularly not really fond of the life season God has me “growing through”. Today, I feel like my contentment is being tested. I can choose to either think on the things I can’t change about this day, or I can think on the miraculous things of this day, leaning into a gratefulness of heart. There is a beautiful frost on everything, sparkling in the upcoming sunlight. Do I focus on the bitter cold that creates the frost, or the brilliance of the sunlight hitting the frost that makes such a pretty sight? Where is my focus? Wherever my focus is, there will be my soul attitude. Up? Or Down? There are two sides to every sight. Negative or positive. At times there are even clearly seen a finite side or an Infinite side. Which one will I focus on? Less finite focus equals more contentment and creates an atmosphere of gratefulness to God in my soul. If I am the one praying my heart out to God, asking Him to help me be content where I am at in this life season, asking Him to bloom me where I am planted, then I must also chose on the bright side of my life season. I must select to see the positive and live out of that overview with gratefulness. It is not that I ignore the negative, I acknowledge it, but I don’t hang with it, I move on to the brighter things and I stay focused there. The more I see with a grateful heart, the more I realize the miraculous in the mundane and I begin rejoicing in whatever becomes my day and I also know sweet contentment in my spirit. What are the things I can celebrate in today? What are the things I can be happy about today? What are the things I can be grateful for today? They are there and they are many, but sometimes my own discontentment hides them from being revealed to my soul. A Kingdom Perspective, choosing to see through my miraculous, and future hope God has given me, this is where my thoughts lie, this is where my contentment is positively fed. My choice is NOT for discontentment today, but all for contentment. Infinitely So. Less focus on the negative-finite side of life and more focus on the positive Kingdom perspective, will trump my human condition so bent towards discontentment and lean me into God’s Sovereign sway, where His good purposes are in play in my life and this equals a very soul-content person today. Be So! Written By KimberlyMac

The Eternal is the True God; He shines His light on us. Let the feast begin. Bring the sacrifice, and tie it to the horns of the altar. 28 You are my God, and I give You thanks; You are my God, and I praise You. Give thanks to our Eternal Lord; He is always good, He never ceases to be loving and kind. Psalm 118:27-29 The Voice Bible Copyright © 2012 Thomas Nelson, Inc. The Voice

Growing in grace they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap, of spiritual vitality and rich in the verdure of trust, love, and contentment. Psalm 92:14 Amplified Bible Copyright © 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

“If you place your hope in anything other than God, you set yourself up for major disappointment. Everything else in life is capable of letting you down, but not your heavenly Father. He is there for you, and His desire is contentment. He desires contentment because He knows that pure joy and happiness are nurtured and able to grow there. Sad are the discontented; glad are the content. Driven are the discontented; called are the content. Restless are the discontented; peaceful are the content. Addicted are the discontented; satisfied are the content. Pessimistic are the discontented; hopeful are the content. Be content and enjoy the outcome. Contentment’s concerns are few.” Author~Boyd Baily http://wisdomhunters.com

You direct me on a path that leads to a beautiful life. As I walk with You, the pleasures are never-ending, and I know true joy and contentment. Acts 2:28 The Voice

“True contentment is the result of a heart committed to the risen Lord. Think of all the sins, pain, and brokenness that come from coveting. Adultery, murder, stealing, and lying can all be traced directly to a prior condition when hearts and minds are frustrated and discontent. Notice what Paul says doesn’t come naturally; it is learned. The normal, natural state of humanity is discontent and quiet desperation. It takes a powerful, spiritual presence to transform anxiety into joyous satisfaction. Ironically, it may be the shackles more than his freedom that schools Paul in the art of contentment. Despite the chains, Paul discovers this beautiful state of inner peace through the power of Jesus residing in him.The Voice Commentary of Philippians 4:15
