The Bridge

Jesus Is The Bridge

You Had Absolutely No Connection To The Anointed; you were strangers, separated from God’s people. You were aliens to the covenant they had with God; you were hopelessly stranded without God in a fractured world. But now, because of Jesus the Anointed and His sacrifice, all of that has changed. God gathered you who were so far away and brought you near to Him by the royal blood of the Anointed, our Liberating King. He is the embodiment of our peace, sent once and for all to take down the great barrier of hatred and hostility that has divided us so that we can be one. Ephesians 2:13-14 The Voice

Grace tried is better than grace, and more than grace; it is glory in its infancy. ~ Samuel Rutherford

Build A Bridge ~ Get Over Your Flesh

There is so much contention and hateful violence in our world, so how do we build a bridge and get over our flesh to common ground? We have to find a common denominator in order to solve this problem of human nature run amuck. We have tried everything our human devices can think up and nothing works. We are fragmented still. We need to open our eyes to our Savior, Jesus Christ, Whose very purpose of coming to us, coming to our world, was to make us His, create unity, make us one family. His desire was to unify us with God and each other. He did it. Jesus is the epitome of reconciliation, restoration and renewal for the human race. Let us stop striving in our finite ways and turn to the Infinite Solution, Jesus Christ.

We Must Begin Building A Bridge Of Love, May We Be Known By God’s Love And Kindness And Let It Begin With Me…Listen UP

All People Are Sinners! Well then, should we conclude that we Jews are better than others? No, not at all, for we have already shown that all people, whether Jews or Gentiles, are under the power of sin. As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” “Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with lies.” “Snake venom drips from their lips.” “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” “They rush to commit murder. Destruction and misery always follow them. They don’t know where to find peace.” “They have no fear of God at all.” Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. Romans 3:9-19 New Living Translation

The bridge of grace will bear your weight, brother. Thousands of big sinners have gone across that bridge, yea, tens of thousands have gone over it. Some have been the chief of sinners and some have come at the very last of their days but the arch has never yielded beneath their weight. I will go with them trusting to the same support. It will bear me over as it has for them. Charles Spurgeon

FOCUS Kingdom Perspective:

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 New Living Translation

FOCUS Worldly Viewpoint:

The love that they had for one another will grow cold because few will obey the law. False prophets will appear, many will be taken in by them, and the only thing that will grow is wickedness. There will be no end to the increase of wickedness. Matthew 24:11-12 The Voice

Don’t Underestimate Your Enemy

The atrocities that our human condition can commit under the influence of the enemy of God are horrifying. We underestimate the power of the enemy over our weak flesh. We need God, we need Him in times like this, like never before our hearts need to be guarded by His Word. Oh how we need God. Our human nature is so subjective by the enemy and his cultural say so. Our enemy has a deceptive devices in play, pushing us to take up an offense that causes the love of God to grow cold in us. If we are not putting on Christ, we are putting on the world. It is one or the other. The offended who has taken up an offense will always become the offender. We need to stop this circle of death, break it by the power of Jesus Christ in us and through us. We need to bow before God and repent of our personal and national sins and ask for His forgiveness. We all have sinned, we all fall short of His glory. The enemy wants to snuff out the love of God in this world, He wants us to be so offended by others that the love in our heart grows cold. If we are not spiritually aware, our God love will slowly fade away in this fallen world.

Here’s my instruction: walk in the Spirit, and let the Spirit bring order to your life. If you do, you will never give in to your selfish and sinful cravings. For everything the flesh desires goes against the Spirit, and everything the Spirit desires goes against the flesh. There is a constant battle raging between them that prevents you from doing the good you want to do. But when you are led by the Spirit, you are no longer subject to the law. It’s clear that our flesh entices us into practicing some of its most heinous acts: participating in corrupt sexual relationships, impurity, unbridled lust, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, arguing, jealousy, anger, selfishness, contentiousness, division, envy of others’ good fortune, drunkenness, drunken revelry, and other shameful vices that plague humankind. I told you this clearly before, and I only tell you again so there is no room for confusion: those who give in to these ways will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:16-22 The Voice

Vital Vertical Relationship ~ Purposeful Challenges

We need a vital-vertical relationship with Jesus. The best thing we can do each day is to get heart to Heart with God. Yes, today, get spirit to Spirit with His Holy Spirit. In a relationship such as this one, a personal relationship with God, our weakness is fleshed out and His strength is truthed in our lives. We need you Jesus, we need Your way, Your truth, Your life. We acknowledge our need for You and Your Word. We need to see Your Kingdom Perspective in every challenge we face and we pray by Your Holy Spirit that we will. We need to see the truth of Your purpose at play in our lives. Oh, how we need Your way, Your truth, Your life to come alive in us. Let it be so Lord Jesus.

So since we stand surrounded by all those who have gone before, an enormous cloud of witnesses, let us drop every extra weight, every sin that clings to us and slackens our pace, and let us run with endurance the long race set before us. We may feel alone, but we aren’t. We are surrounded by an army of witnesses. They have run the race of faith and finished well. It is now our turn. Now stay focused on Jesus, who designed and perfected our faith. He endured the cross and ignored the shame of that death because He focused on the joy that was set before Him; and now He is seated beside God on the throne, a place of honor. Consider the life of the One who endured such personal attacks and hostility from sinners so that you will not grow weary or lose heart. Among you, in your striving against sin, none has resisted the pressure to the point of death, as He did. Hebrews 12: 1-4 The Voice

God’s Providential Care Is Always In Play

These are extremely challenging times we live it. It is an honor to serve God during times such as these. There is no such thing as a comfort zone in the challenges we are facing. In every great challenge we face, there is a greater God purpose in play in the center of the challenge. We don’t face a challenge that is greater than the God purpose contained in it. What are we focused on? The challenge or the God purpose in play? Our focus is what determines our attitudes, actions and our outcome. Yes, we will be challenged and yes, God’s purposes will be in play for our good. God’s purposes are greater than the challenge you are currently facing and they are currently in play right in the middle of your challenge. This is God’s providential care and the two fold purpose of God’s providential care is Him, working everything for our good and for the glory of His Kingdom. AWE-GOD.

“God’s presence is our holy ground in this world of chaotic lawlessness and we deeply realize in our soul He is still the greatest goodness, purposefully in play in our fallen world. When we meet with God, in that personal way, heart to Heart and spirit to Spirit, He soothes our souls with His hope and reminds us of His power, purpose and promises that are always in play in our lives. The Holy Ground of God’s Presence gives us the power we need to endure, growing through the things of our lives as we pursue God first, and are saturated in His promises, as He increases our faith and hope in Him. Holy Ground in the Presence of God, is a place where our Kingdom perspective is grown stronger and our worldly viewpoint fades.” KimberlyMac

Choose Life! “Listen closely, I have set before you today life and prosperity (good), and death and adversity (evil); in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk [that is, to live each and every day] in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments (precepts), so that you will live and multiply, and that the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you are entering to possess. But if your heart turns away and you will not hear and obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, I declare to you today that you will certainly perish. You will not live long in the land which you cross the Jordan to enter and possess. I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore, you shall choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding closely to Him; for He is your life [your good life, your abundant life, your fulfillment] and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the Lord promised (swore) to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 30:15-20 Amplified Bible

Our Choice Is Either Good Or Evil. Two Choices~Two Outcomes

We will choose and serve one of the two of these: Good or evil. In a personal relationship with Jesus, we are taught by His Holy Spirit, how to cling to good, to be kind and tenderhearted people and yet despise evil. God teaches us how to speak the truth very powerfully with His Love. We don’t tolerate, we don’t rationalize, we don’t assume, we don’t hate people, we just live, being found in the presence, purposes, power, provisions and promises of our Almighty God. Keep your feet on the Holy Ground of God’s Presence and cling to the purposes of God as you despise the evil influence of the challenge at hand. These are things we can’t do on our own, these are things we do as we are found being in God’s Presence and deeply soul-influenced by Jesus, His Truth, and His Holy Spirit. We will either respond in Christ or react out of our flesh during these lawless times and our choice will reflect glory and honor for God’s Kingdom or dishonor.

“That the greatest gift we can ever receive is the gift of losing our earthly security and comfort? So that we can unwrap the intimacy of the Savior and His Heavenly Comfort. Ecstatic joy is found outside of static comfort zones —Because it’s moving out to where the Spirit moves. We’re in step with the Holy Spirit when we step out into hard things. Faith gets out of the boat. And walking in the Spirit means stepping out to walk the waves and feeling the comfort of His grip. “When God moves us out of our comfort zone —- this is a gift.” Author ~ aholyexperience.com

Kingdom Perspective Is Not Easy To Live Out, It Is A Narrow Path

We often resort to a worldly viewpoint that consists of our cultural say-so. We slip into it very easily as our culture dictates an impulsive life-style. Our culture teaches us the broad path because it is easier and does not stretch us past our comfort zone. The Kingdom perspective is this: Jesus wept. Jesus had compassion on all those who were hurting, every one of them. He always reached out even when it wasn’t comfortable and His way was narrow and not very easy at all. He had nowhere to call home and lay His head. The atrocities of mass murder are so hard to take in, we were not created with the emotional soul strength for things such as these that we are experiencing in the lawlessness of this season of life. How could one human being murder so many other human beings with such hate? We just cannot take in the horror of it. We are a hurt and wounded society and we can’t fix it, we can’t find a solution that covers over such atrocities that began with humanity walking the broad path to hell.

Sin is more than just wrong choices, bad decisions, and willful acts of disobedience that violate God’s Word and are contrary to His will. It is that and much more. Paul knows sin is missing the mark or deliberately stepping over the line, but he also knows that sin is a power at work in him and every child of Adam. As strange as it may sound, sin seems to have a will of its own. Like an addiction, sin takes hold of us and causes us to act in ways we never wanted. For Paul the cross of Jesus deals finally and definitively with the dual reality of sin. Not only are we forgiven of our sins—our willful acts of disobedience—but we are also liberated from the power of sin. The Voice Commentary Romans 3

Extraordinary afflictions are not always the punishment of extraordinary sins, but sometimes the trial of extraordinary graces. Sanctified afflictions are spiritual promotions. Quote By ~Matthew Henry

Bridge Building Begins On Your Knees

How can we build a bridge from these horrible acts of human depravity and find our way to forgiveness, peace and unity? It seems impossible. There is not one of us in this human race that has the ability to be perfect or do things perfectly without the wisdom and strength of our God. Our God Who created us, knows us from the inside-out, better than we could ever know ourselves. God created us with eternity in our hearts. The God shaped hole in our soul is there to be filled by Him. We try to fill it from the things of this world, yet they do not satisfy us, they don’t fit our God designed shape. Jesus is the Bridge from our human inadequacy to the strength and provision of God and in Him, we can build a bridge that spans from our finite reaction to His Infinite response. Begin on your knees before God and Listen Up.

Our Comfort Zone Is Centralized In Our Worldly Viewpoint

We so often resort to our worldly viewpoints, this is where our comfort zone lies and we stay there. It is our easy go to place. When we are living by the light of a man made fire, we don’t grow past our own cultural viewpoint, because the light fades out. We have a future and a hope and it is nowhere to be found in a worldly viewpoint. We need to live out of a Kingdom Perspective. Jesus is and has a Kingdom perspective that we all can share as common ground. Jesus came to us. He came to us, making the grand gesture of a sacrificial love. Jesus died our death, so we could live out of His resurrected life power. What Jesus did for us challenges us to stretch past our worldly viewpoint to a Kingdom perspective in order to be like Him. We can’t do this in our finite strength, it is weak and won’t stand up through the tests of time and human trials. We need to walk the bridge over to the side of Infinite strength and let God’s strength infuse our finite weakness.

If you want the truth, this is what the Eternal has to say: “You will remain in Babylon for 70 years. When that time is over, I will come to you, and I will keep My promise of bringing you back home. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Eternal, “plans for peace, not evil, to give you a future and hope—never forget that. At that time, you will call out for Me, and I will hear. You will pray, and I will listen. You will look for Me intently, and you will find Me. Yes, I will be found by you,” says the Eternal, “and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations where you’ve been scattered—all the places where I have driven you. I will bring you back to the land that is your rightful home.” Jeremiah 29:10-14 The Voice

Hurting People Hurt People

Hurting, wounded people walking in a flawed human condition, hurt other people. People have been given a free will choice. They make the choice for death over life, for deception over truth, for hate over love. This is their choice to hate, to murder, to grasp for all things in this life that are temporary and do not last. I heard it said that in a junkyard you will find many things junked that people once sold their souls to obtain. The lasting, powerful way, truth and life is Jesus Christ. Once we make our way to Him, we find a life that is real, truth that heals our wounded souls, and a permanent strength for our weakness. We have access to Jesus’ resurrection power, incredible in meekness and love that lasts the tests of time and trials of humanity. There is no better way to live in times such as these. Choose life. Choose Jesus, The Bridge To Infinite Responses.

For God expressed His love for the world in this way: He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not face everlasting destruction, but will have everlasting life. Here’s the point. God didn’t send His Son into the world to judge it; instead, He is here to rescue a world headed toward certain destruction. No one who believes in Him has to fear condemnation, yet condemnation is already the reality for everyone who refuses to believe because they reject the name of the only Son of God. Why does God allow for judgment and condemnation? Because the Light, sent from God, pierced through the world’s darkness to expose ill motives, hatred, gossip, greed, violence, and the like. Still some people preferred the darkness over the light because their actions were dark. 20 Some of humankind hated the light. They scampered hurriedly back into the darkness where vices thrive and wickedness flourishes. John 3:16-20 The Voice

God Knows Everything About You And I

God created all human beings. He knows everything. He knows everyone of us. He knows what we in our human condition are capable of. He knows we desperately need Him. What other response is there in times such as these where people are hurting so terribly at the violent acts of others, except to reach for Jesus? We could react out of our humanity, but what help would that be. I have found great comfort in my grief at the feet of Jesus, bowed down in my finite being, lifted up by God’s Infinite Being. There is no greater comfort, no greater peace that surpasses all of these times we are “growing through” than that of Jesus Christ.
