God Is Speaking~We Are Gathering Food For Our Souls

We hear many messages during the week, God is always speaking to us. God is speaking all the time, in fact we can have an abundance of soul food nourishing us daily if we listen up. The time God knows we will be listening to Him is our weekly church service. The messages from God at our churches are always so amazing. We glean every weekend in our churches. We gather food for our soul. I gleaned a lot this weekend. God loves to lavish us abundantly with everything we need to be strong, energetic and faith filled in our spirit and soul.

Sunday, June 19th, 2016 I Gleaned From A Message By Pastor Adam Guice At Trinity Of Fairview Church

Palm 136:1 Let your heart overflow with praise to the Eternal, for He is good, for His faithful love lasts forever. The Voice

“If It Wasn’t For God, Today, None Of Us Would Be Here. I Want To Be The Best I Can Be For God.” Adam Guice

Matthew 7:7-11 Just ask and it will be given to you; seek after it and you will find. Continue to knock and the door will be opened for you. 8 All who ask receive. Those who seek, find what they seek. And he who knocks, will have the door opened. 9 Think of it this way: if your son asked you for bread, would you give him a stone? Of course not—you would give him a loaf of bread. 10 If your son asked for a fish, would you give him a snake? No, to be sure, you would give him a fish—the best fish you could find. 11 So if you, who are sinful, know how to give your children good gifts, how much more so does your Father in heaven, who is perfect, know how to give great gifts to His children! The Voice

Gleaned Attribute 1: God Is Generous

The first thing gleaned is that God is good and never holds back His goodness from us. He doesn’t have to father us, He wants too. God has an incredible legacy as a Good Father, and sometimes that legacy of faithfulness is tested by doubt when God does not give us what we want. Then we start thinking, He is a mean, mean Father. When God holds back something we have asked for, that doesn’t make Him mean, that makes Him a good Dad. God will always withhold things from us that we don’t need and things that might hurt us in the long run. God knows everything, so this is a kingdom perspective that He uses for our good, because He knows what is ahead for us.

Luke 12:29-31″And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. 30 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. 31 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need. The Voice

Pastor Adam explained to us that God knows everything, and He actually knows what we need before we even ask. God is all about giving us good gifts generously so. Limitless is a good description of God’s goodness. I loved that description. His goodness is limitless and His generosity is the same. We are way too blessed. I like what Pastor Adam said about God in a very concise and thanksgiving provoking statement: “Man requests God responds”. Period. God is there for us always.

Ephesians 3:20 This is a doxology of praise to the One with power that is beyond understanding. Now to the God who can do so many awe-inspiring things, immeasurable things, things greater than we ever could ask or imagine through the power at work in us. The Voice

Pastor Adam shared with us that God is gracious not only in His material goodness that He showers in our lives, but with His love characteristics which He lavishes us with. God is gracious to shape our character, to finish what He has started in us, transforming us to be like His Son, Jesus in motive, attitude, thought and deed. God loves giving good gifts to us, generous in selection and supply. God gives us His Grace unconditionally. We have not earned it, yet we receive it generously from Him.

Gleaned Attribute 2: God Is Gracious

“God Is Gracious In Sustaining And Upholding Us.” Adam Guice

God’s response to sin was a gracious salvation which He sustains. When we sin, we are partaking in the birthing of death. Pastor Adam so aptly put it this way: Man receives and God redeems. We so needed a gracious Redeemer. We all are born with a sin nature that needs to be redeemed. God graciously chose to give us a re-birth that leads us to victory, not death, but directly to eternal life.

Pastor Adam reminded us how God shows us gracious mercy when we don’t deserve it. We were sinners, we were serving his greatest enemy and He still came, died our death, so we could live His life in the power and rightness of His resurrected life.

James 1:16-18 My dearly loved brothers and sisters, don’t be misled. 17 Every good gift bestowed, every perfect gift received comes to us from above, courtesy of the Father of lights. He is consistent. He won’t change His mind or play tricks in the shadows. 18 We have a special role in His plan. He calls us to life by His message of truth so that we will show the rest of His creatures His goodness and love. The Voice

Pastor Adam told us about three gracious gifts God has given us:

1) Salvation

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

2) His Holy Spirit

Ephesians 1:13 Because you, too, have heard the word of truth—the good news of your salvation—and because you believed in the One who is truth, your lives are marked with His seal. This is none other than the Holy Spirit who was promised. The Voice

3) His Providential Care~Our Good His Glory

Romans 8:28 We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan. The Voice

Gleaned Attribute 3: God’s Glory

“When We Reflect The Glory Of God, He Is Revered.” Adam Guice

Matthew 5:14-16 And you, beloved, are the light of the world. A city built on a hilltop cannot be hidden. 15 Similarly it would be silly to light a lamp and then hide it under a bowl. When someone lights a lamp, she puts it on a table or a desk or a chair, and the light illumines the entire house. 16 You are like that illuminating light. Let your light shine everywhere you go, that you may illumine creation, so men and women everywhere may see your good actions, may see creation at its fullest, may see your devotion to Me, and may turn and praise your Father in heaven because of it. The Voice

The Sunday glean I received from what Pastor Adam was sharing about God’s glory was a responsibility on my part to glow God’s Glory in my life, to shine of His attributes, His word, His characteristics in my every thought, motive, deed, attitude and action. Let God be seen as glorious in me and through me.

Isaiah 42:8 “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols. New Living Translation

Pastor Adam encouraged us, telling us that we naturally are not inherently good, but there is One who embodies the goodness of all perfectness and He can cause us to be more godly and will be glorified in us and through us. He speaks and we obey and we can be sure to know that when He speaks, He will also confirm it.

Pastor Adam closed by reading Psalm 145

“Dad’s be the best dad you can be and reflect the Lord’s gracious, generous God glory.” Challenge From Pastor Adam Guice

Psalm 145: 1-4 I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever. 2 Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts. NKJV
