Spiritual Honor

 thought

Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who comes from God and dwells inside of you? You do not own yourself. You have been purchased at a great price, so use your body to bring glory to God! 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 The Voice

Ever Been Given A Really Nice Gift? When you receive a really nice gift from someone, it is natural to feel a sense of indebtedness. The greatest gift I ever received in this life was the forgiveness of God and the righteousness of Jesus to cover my human condition in the purity of real goodness. I am deeply indebted to Jesus Christ.

Is Our Soul Muddy? In this culture that seems to be getting more godless by the day, I get mud slung all over my soul, I call it mediatic mire. We get cultural media messages that bombard our human senses nonstop. We need to be cleansed by God, we need the pureness of Jesus to wash over us every single day, purifying our mind, soul and spirit.

Are We Living From A Worldly Viewpoint? Selfishness and climbing the latter of success go together in this society, and in times such as these, they are locked hands. Being selfless takes a radical dying of self and a kingdom perspective that has trumped a worldly viewpoint. We need to develop in us the heart of a bondservant of Jesus Christ. Where is our spiritual honor?

Both to Greeks and to barbarians, to the cultured and to the uncultured, both to the wise and the foolish, I have an obligation to discharge and a duty to perform and a debt to pay. So, for my part, I am willing and eagerly ready to preach the Gospel to you also who are in Rome. Romans 1:14-15 Amplified Bible

Is Our Heart Motive Pure? We should be so indebted to God that we would sacrifice and do anything to keep the purity, the righteousness that Jesus purchased for us. It should be an honor to obey and wholly-holy serve God. Our will should be so bent towards servant leadership for Jesus Christ and bringing glory to His Kingdom, that not even the loudest cultural say so can change the course of it. Our gaze should be set like flint upon the purity of holiness of Jesus Christ and our will should always lean into His Sovereign Sway. Our hearts should portray a humbleness that shouts out what an incredible honor it is to serve, to give our lives to Jesus Christ, to make Him first, to let Him determine our course, to put Him at the center of our all in all.

Is The Sacrifice Alive In Our Salvation? Am I willing and eager to give my life to Jesus Christ or am I holding back parts of it for myself? Jesus put the sacrifice in salvation like no other ever has. He was all in with God, all in with God’s Kingdom plan. How deeply rooted am I to this earth? When I answer this question honestly, I will know how deep and wide my spiritual honor is. It is time like never before, for us to pull up our roots from this earth and transplant them in the Kingdom of God, having our being wholly-holy invested in what Jesus sacrificed His life for, being a selfless servant just like Him.

“Paul sold himself to Jesus Christ and he said, in effect, “I am a debtor to everyone on the face of the earth because of the gospel of Jesus; I am free only that I may be an absolute bondervant of His.” That is the characteristic of a Christian’s life once this level of spiritual honor and duty becomes real.” Author ~ Oswald Chambers
