IF You Are A Servant Warrior For God, You Need To Replenish Your Soul-Life With Living Water

Psalm 63: 1-5

A song of David while in the wilderness of Judah. O True God, You are my God, the One whom I trust. I seek You with every fiber of my being. In this dry and weary land with no water in sight, my soul is dry and longs for You. My body aches for You, for Your presence. I have seen You in Your sanctuary and have been awed by Your power and glory. Your steadfast love is better than life itself, so my lips will give You all my praise. I will bless You with every breath of my life; I will lift up my hands in praise to Your name.My soul overflows with satisfaction, as when I feast on foods rich in marrow and fat; with excitement in my heart and joy on my lips, I offer You praise. The Voice

Hot, Dry, Parched World

Serving God in this world that is constantly heated up by the enemy, is a very difficult, draining task for God’s servant warriors. We have to keep our vital-vertical relationship replenished with His living water. As we stay connected to His Vine we will be replenished by His Life and His Living Water.

REPLENISH MY SOUL AND QUENCH MY THIRST LORD, MY GOD

John 7:37-38
Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ” If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.

Replenish Your Soul – Quench Your Thirst

As God’s servant warriors, everything about our lives are serving Him wholly-holy. Loving the unlovable, running the race of faith in a faithless society and pointing people to Jesus can deplete our soul. We were not created to have to endure such atrocities of human nature that are happening in our generation. God wants us to shoulder them on Him. Because we serve Him does not mean we walk around depleted and spent. As we serve Him, we are clinging to the Vine of His life and being constantly nourished and replenished by His Living Water. We do live in a spiritually dry and soul parched generation, but we are continually fed by God as we stay in a vital-vertical relationship with Him. Our souls should never be parched, even though our world is. There are things happening in our world that are way beyond our ability to sustain the emotional outpouring from them. We, as God’s servant warriors truly need to position ourselves where we are being continually replenished by His living water.

Jeremiah 2:13 My people are guilty of two evils:
They have abandoned Me, the spring of living waters;
And instead, they have settled for dead and stagnant water
from cracked, leaky cisterns of their own making.

THINK ABOUT IT
thinkonit

Mold us, great God, into forms of beauty and usefulness by the wheel of Providence and by the touch of Thy hand. Fulfill Thine ideal, and conform us to the image of Thy Son. In Thy great house may we stand as vessels meet for Thy use. We are little better than common earthenware, but may we be cleansed, and purified, and filled with Thy heavenly treasure. Dip us deep into the River of Life, and give refreshment by us to many parched and weary hearts. Author~F.B. Meyer

Psalm 62O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.

As God’s servant warrior, sometimes I feel like that, so spirit dry and thirsty and my soul just pants for God! Just for Him, nothing and no one, but Him. I live in a world where “living water” is a necessary commodity. Our nation is parched, our churches are dehydrated, our personal lives are dry as a bone and we all thirst for the genuine, reality that we find in our God. Our Lord is: simple, devoted and true. How we long for Your living water, Lord Jesus. We start serving You in our own strength, trying to be the fixers of humanity and before we know it, we are so soul parched that our spirit can barely breathe. In order to be replenished as God’s servant warrior, we must submit ourselves to Him first. I call it being a “firstee”, this is a person whose every first begins in God’s strength and by His power. This is where we need to get to in order to serve God in this generation. Our first step out of each day should be bowed down to Him, being replenished and filled by His Holy Spirit. We will be poured out on a dry and weary world, but we don’t have to reflect our world, God has made a way for us to be filled and re-filled by His Holy Spirit.

Continuing On, seeking To Quench My Thirst

Isaiah 64  Oh that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down!  That the mountains might shake at Your presence as fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to boil… to make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your Presence.

THINKING MORE ABOUT IT

Jesus our soul cries out to You, how we need to be in Your Presence. It is our heart’s desire that You would make yourself known in our world. We long for Your powerful intervention, Your Presence in our hearts, in our lives, in our churches and in our nation. As fire causes water to boil, revive us Oh Lord!

REPLENISHING Our SOUL AND Quenching Our Thirst

Isaiah 64:3 When you did awesome things for which we did not look, You came down, The mountains shook at Your presence. For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.

THINKING ABOUT IT WITH MY WHOLE HEART OPEN

Since the beginning You, Lord God have not changed. You have desired and sought out a personal relationship with us. We have always had You, we have experienced Your presence and power since the day of our inception in our mother’s womb and hence forward. We have not heard or seen any God besides You, our faithful God. You have been longsuffering in your relationship with us, You have persevered and shown us much mercy. You mighty God, will act for those who wait for You. Your promises are awesome and true.

Jeremiah 17:6-8

This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land. “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit. New Living Translation

WATER IT

Water It
Water It

Christ is my Savior. He is my life. He is everything to me in heaven and earth. Once while traveling in a sandy region I was tired and thirsty. Standing on the top of a mound I looked for water. The sight of a lake at a distance brought joy to me, for now I hoped to quench my thirst. I walked toward it for a long time, but I could never reach it. Afterwards I found out it was a mirage, only a mere appearance of water caused by the refracted rays of the sun. In reality there was none. In a like manner I was moving about the world in search of the water of life. The things of this world – wealth, position, honour and luxury – looked like a lake by drinking of whose waters I hoped to quench my spiritual thirst. But I could never find a drop of water to quench the thirst of my heart. I was dying of thirst. When my spiritual eyes were opened I saw the rivers of living water flowing from his pierced side. I drank of it and was satisfied. Thirst was no more.” Author~Sadhu Sundar Singh

REPLENISH YOUR SOUL AND QUENCH YOUR THIRST

1 Corinthians 2:9 “But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

Isaiah 25:9
Behold, this is our God! We have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord; We have waited for Him; We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.

Isaiah 30:15,18
In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength. Therefore, the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore, He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are those who wait for Him.

Jeremiah 14:22 Are there any among the idols of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Are You not He, O Lord our God? Therefore, we will wait for You, since You have made all these.

WE ARE NOT THE ANSWER NOR CAN WE CREATE THE SOLUTION

It is not the servant warrior who is the answer or who creates the solution for this world and all its problems. It is God. God works in us and through us. We don’t serve the world, we serve God. We are faithful to God, we wait on Him, available to Him so we can be used for the divine appointments He has planned by the destiny and power of His Holy Spirit. We are teachable by the Holy Spirit, therefore we do not have to know it all, we just have to walk in followship of Him. It is in quiet confidence of God that we serve, live, move and have our being and this is how we stay replenished by living water in a parched world.

WATERING Wisdom For The One Who Thirsts For God

Micah 7:5 Do not trust in a friend; Do not put your confidence in a companion; Guard the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom. For son dishonors father, Daughter rises against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; A man’s enemies are the men of his own house. Therefore… I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my Salvation; My God will hear me.

WATER YOUR SPIRIT WITH THIS WISDOM

Jeremiah 2:13 My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns-broken cisterns that can hold no water.

My Thoughts: Jesus, living water, You are to Me, You quench my thirst and replenish my soul as I live moment to moment in this dry parched land, I choose to serve You. When I turn away living by my own knowledge, doing things my way, forsaking the guidance of the Holy Spirit, my soul will end up parched and dry just like this world. Thank You Jesus that when I cling to You, digging my life roots deeply in Your Kingdom, I am replenished with Your living water.

Psalm 62: 5-8

My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him. He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved. With God rests my salvation-my glory; He is my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness, and my refuge is in God! Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower). Selah [pause-calmly think of that]! Amplified Bible

Live It Out – Walk In God’s Replenishment
liveitout

I may, I suppose, regard myself, or pass for being a relatively successful man. People occasionally stare at me in the streets – that’s fame. I can fairly easily earn enough to qualify for admission to the higher slopes of the Internal Revenue – that’s success. Furnished with money and a little fame even the elderly, if they care to, may partake of trendy diversions – that’s pleasure. It might happen once in a while that something I said or wrote was sufficiently heeded for me to persuade myself that it represented a serious impact on our time – that’s fulfillment. Yet I say to you – and I beg you to believe me – multiply these tiny triumphs by a million, add them all together, and they are nothing – less than nothing, a positive impediment – measured against one draught of that living water Christ offers to the spiritually thirsty, irrespective of who or what they are.” Author~Malcolm Muggeridge

Hosea 12:6 So you… How: by the help of your God … What: return;

Doing What: Observe…. Mercy and justice… How: Wait on Your God When: Continually. Selah!

CHANGING-LEARNING- QUENCHING MY THIRST

Isaiah 40:28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. There is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

SOUL QUENCHED BY LIVING WATER

Psalm 37:7-9 Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.

IT IS NOT ABOUT US OR THROUGH US

We don’t have to be strong, we don’t have to muster up our courage, we don’t have to have the answers in a world where there seems to be no answers. We just have to be wholly-holy HIS, be found in Him, letting Him work through us. In a world where things have been flipped flopped, dark is good and light is bad, it can get to be a very dark place. We can’t kindle a fire and walk by the light of a man made fire because it will flame out. Servant warriors in today’s generation walk by God’s Light, we walk in the bright everlasting light God provides. We become His Light, His powerful light that shatters the darkness in that incredible way only He can bring about. What is happening in our world is not about us, it is for us to be saved, delivered and healed for all eternity. It is not about us serving with our own strength, it is about us being equipped daily by God’s Holy Spirit, so He can work in us and through us. If we are soul parched, then we are living on the wrong side of the flip-flopped culture, we need to get back to Kingdom living, to a Kingdom perspective, to digging our life roots deeply in God’s Kingdom.

Isaiah 50:10-11

Who is among you who [reverently] fears the Lord, who obeys the voice of His Servant, yet who walks in darkness and deep trouble and has no shining splendor [in his heart]? Let him rely on, trust in, and be confident in the name of the Lord, and let him lean upon and be supported by his God. Behold, all you [enemies of your own selves] who attempt to kindle your own fires [and work out your own plans of salvation], who surround and gird yourselves with momentary sparks, darts, and firebrands that you set aflame!—walk by the light of your self-made fire and of the sparks that you have kindled [for yourself, if you will]! But this shall you have from My hand: you shall lie down in grief and in torment.

Pray It Upprayitup

In this hour of all-but-universal darkness one cheering gleam appears: Within the fold of conservative Christianity there are to be found increasing numbers of persons whose religious lives are marked by a growing hunger after God Himself. They are eager for spiritual realities… They are athirst for God, and they will not be satisfied until they have drunk deep at the Fountain of Living Water. Author~A.W.Tozer

PRAYERFULLY- SUBMISSIVELY – RESPONDING

We wait on you today Lord Jesus, fill us with Your living water and quench our dry soul replenish it by the power of . We remember You today, the Lamb, who is in the midst of this parched world, the lamb on the throne, the one who will lead us to living fountains of water, and wipe away every tear from our eyes. You are our living water. We wait. In Your Presence, we wait. Fill our cup Lord Jesus. Open our eyes to see with a Kingdom perspective and Open our ears to hear Your Voice. Replenish our souls with AWE of You, respect for You and deep reverence for everything You are, when we are walking in this then we won’t be deceived into taking on responsibility that is not ours. You are responsible to finish what You started, we prayerfully, submissively respond to You. If we are reacting to this world, then we will have a parched soul, if we are responding to God, then we will have a replenished, quenched soul with Your living water, abundantly flowing out of us to our parched and weary world.

Revelations 7:12-17

They sang, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen.” Then one of the twenty-four elders asked me, “Who are these who are clothed in white? Where did they come from?” And I said to him, “Sir, you are the one who knows.” Then he said to me, “These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white. “That is why they stand in front of God’s throne and serve him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will give them shelter. They will never again be hungry or thirsty; they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun. For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”
