One Thing Remains

The earth is filled with Your unfailing love, O Eternal One; teach me to observe what You require. Psalm 119:64 VOICE

Higher than the mountains that we face, stronger than the power of the grave

Constant through the trial and the change…One Thing Remains…

Overwhelming Things Touch Our Lives

Sometimes in this fallen world, we face sin consequences that totally overwhelm us, because the truth is that no one sins alone, sin affects everyone, we all pay consequences for sin whether we were the sinner or not. We all feel overwhelmed at times. There have been times in my life where I said: “Really God”, I can’t do this, You have picked the wrong person.” Sometimes in our lives, we do face very hard things, doctors reports for loved ones that we know we don’t have the strength for the journey ahead. Life on this earth can be very overwhelming at times, but God has promised us a strength like no other, and equips us to grow through these times where we feel we can’t make it through. God never gives us more than He has equipped us to handle.

Even the youths shall be exhausted, and the young men will all give up. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:30-31 Living Bible

The Sovereign Will Of God Is Hard To Swallow

Yes, very often, God’s sovereign will is very hard to swallow and we feel we are not going to make it through. I have found through the many overwhelming life experiences I have had, God has a great purpose to all things He allows to touch our lives and He has a built in strength, the power of His great love. The challenges we face are big, but the God purposes in them are bigger and greater yet.

He walked away, about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Then an angel from heaven appeared and strengthened him. Luke 22:40-43 New Living Translation

Infinite Love ~ An Incredible Love

God’s love is amazing! What an incredible love it is. He has pursued us for generations and then He displayed a miraculous, overwhelming kind of love, one that has never been equaled. God sent His Son, Jesus to take on our punishment as if it was His, to pay the debt that we owed, one we could never pay and then to go the second mile and die our death we deserved and He did not. Jesus faced His cross, and did not run out on us. It was the sovereign will of His Father that He submitted Himself to as He clung to the infinite love of God and traveled down sufferings pathway.

Oh, thank the Lord, for he’s so good! His loving-kindness is forever. Let the congregation of Israel praise him with these same words: “His loving-kindness is forever.” And let the priests of Aaron chant, “His loving-kindness is forever.” Let the Gentile converts chant, “His loving-kindness is forever.” In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me and rescued me. He is for me! How can I be afraid? What can mere man do to me? The Lord is on my side; he will help me. Let those who hate me beware. It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in men. 9 It is better to take refuge in him than in the mightiest king! Psalm 118:1-9 Living Bible

God’s Unfailing Love

Unfailing Love! This is the love of God that is with us always. This incredible love never fails us and it never gives up, nor runs out of power. It has the farthest reach. God’s love is soul saturating and totally enough for us in the all of our everything. It never stops flowing and it has the same quality of power at all times. We can’t even measure it by human standards, as God lavishes us with it, covering us in it as we grow through our life situations with great heart confidence in His amazing love. We are treasured by God and He considers us priceless.

“I want to cultivate a deep sense of gratitude, of groundedness, of enough, even while I’m longing for something more. The longing and the gratitude, both. I’m practicing believing that God knows more than I know, that he sees what I can’t, that he’s weaving a future I can’t even imagine from where I sit this morning.” Author~ Shauna Niequist

Yes On The Table

I trust in God’s great love, therefore I put my YES on the table of His sovereign will. What I have found is when I have surrendered to God, wholly-holy, and slipped my hand in to His sovereign will, it felt like it was not enough for me. I struggled so much with God’s Will for my life as my will bucked up against it. Pushing against God’s will with my will, in doing so, I did not realize I was rejecting the love of God. I asked: “Why God, why?” He answered me in the most revealing of ways: He said:”My Sovereign Will and My Infinite Love go hand in hand, the two are never separated. Since then, I have followed after this way of His that He specifically spoke in my heart, and I have learned not to buck up my will against His, but to embrace it and when I do, I am embracing His love too, and this is enough for me.

Infinite Love And Sovereign Will ~ Hand In Hand

I will never forget that day of anguished prayer, when I had learned of something I knew my flesh could not handle. Jesus took my face in His Hands and said to me: “Fully face me, look into My eyes,” then He took my hand and placed it in the hand of His sovereign will and then He took my other hand and placed it into His other hand. I said: “What is this Lord?” He answered: “My child, My sovereign will is always accompanied by My infinite love, the two are never separated. Surrender to my sovereign will, place your hand in Mine and then fully face Me and slip your other hand into the hand of My infinite love. I am your Enough”.

“We never have to be afraid because God’s love will remain through the living out of His Sovereign will for us, as we live out all that is God purposeful, even if it is hard on our flesh, we know it always has a good endgame for our spirit.” Author~KimberlyMac

A Love That Doesn’t Fail

The sovereign will of God and the infinite love of God go hand in hand, there is not one without the other. I experienced this when my mother called me and said: “The doctor’s report came back and I have cancer, it is all throughout my chest and the prognosis is not good.” I was in shock, my mom was my best friend, and we shared everything together. She was needed in our community, a great woman of God, an incredible encouragement to so many. After I hung up the phone I collapsed on the floor in a heap. I told the Lord, NO, I can’t do this, there is no possible way I can go through this. This is one mountain I just can’t climb. I just can’t. Over the next few months I learned how the infinite love of God, which never fails, and never gives up, helped me to swallow the Sovereign will of God for my mom and my life.

“If our testimonies are strong on this point and if we feel the absolute assurance that God loves us, we will change our questions. We won’t ask, ‘Why did this happen?’ or ‘Why doesn’t God care about me?’ Instead, our questions will become, ‘What can I learn from this experience?’ or ‘How does the Lord want me to handle this?” Author~John Bytheway

The Incredible Witness Of God’s Love

My mother went home to be with Jesus about six months after that phone call. I had placed my hand in the sovereign will of God and my other hand in His infinite love and He lifted me and helped me through all that I felt I could not endure. God’s love made a way for me, He truly was my Way-Maker God. I was not afraid, I was not alone, and I was able through the strength of God to be a blessing to my mom during her last days on this earth. She in turn was an incredible witness of the love of God and a beautiful picture of the strength of His love, that never failed her. People were lined up to go into her room and see her, they would come out crying and say: “Oh my gosh, there she is all 86 pounds of her, and she is still so very powerful in God, she ministered to me so much, I thought I was going to encourage her and instead she encouraged me.” My mom’s last word on this earth was her whispering the name of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV

No Doubt About It

God’s love does not fail us, this I know to be true, no doubt about it. And, thankfully so, it is stronger than the power of the grave, and as I have lived on this side of heaven, separated from my mom who is in heaven for many years now, I have had the hope of seeing her again, renewing our friendship and running the streets of gold together. AWE-God. I still miss her even after all these years, but God, His love is enough for me, it is always there for me.

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 New Living Translation

God Knows What We Need

I am so totally grateful to God that His infinite love, powerful and genuinely true and His sovereign will, always go hand in hand. He knew what we would need, He created us and He totally knew and knows when we are bowing to His sovereign will, saying Yes, Lord, Yes, that we are also wrapped up tightly in His infinite love. We may not know where God is taking us, or understand His way, but we know His Love, we know He is with us, we know His intentions are the best for us, we know we have everything  we need right now and we know we are forever kept by His Love, all this including His amazing Providential Care, it is written on our hearts.
