My 2016 Word

Every Year I Ask…

Every year I ask the Lord for a specific Word. This year He spoke to my heart that I needed to “prepare to endure” so I could bring Him and His Kingdom great honor. When I asked Him how to do that, He answered and said to saturate my soul with the Word, listening to His Voice first and foremost in 2016. I know that I need to change up my life to avail myself to and listen to God’s Voice above all others. One of the flaws of my life has been to entertain assumptions. I have been working on being aware of this and changing this for the last few years. God said this is the year to end that for good. No Assumptions. No Presumptions. No Rationalizations. This is the year to purify my thought life with the purity of truth alone. It is good for us to learn to keep our minds wholly-wholly aligned with the mind of Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:16 For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ, to be guided by His thoughts and purposes. Amplified Bible

A Purified Thought Life…

A purified thought life begins with being found wholly-holy in God, in a vital vertical relationship with Him. Our first step out each day should be down before God. Making that vital connection with Him, heart to Heart and spirit to Spirit. It is here that we lay down all of our expectations from our worldly viewpoints and we pick up His Sword of the Spirit and yield it throughout our day.

Getting Rid Of Assumptions…

Getting rid of assumptions is a key thing for me. I realize that I can’t get rid of them all together, they will come into my mind as long as I have an enemy and I do have an enemy. I recognize that. I am not the type to say there is no enemy there. I know there is and I don’t underestimate him, but my focus never lingers long with him. I accept he is there, but then I turn and fully face God and I acknowledge God in all my ways. He is the Who I serve, He is the full of my attention. The enemy may distract me, but I must chose to realign my holy alliance with God.

John 7:14-18 About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began teaching. The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?” So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood. English Standard Version

My Relationship With God…

My relationship with God is a constant realignment and my goal is to keep a vital-vertical relationship with God from every moment into every choice. If I am out of alignment with God, then I wait before I choose to do anything and I get back in alignment with God. Assumption always knocks out my alignment with God. I have given it way too much precedence in my mind to things that are not true and I need to change it up this year. Change it up to truth and truth alone. If I am going to be led anywhere, it needs to be by the purity of God’s truth.

“The believer in addition should assail the lies of the evil spirits. Every suggestion from the enemy must be met resolutely with the truth of the Bible. Answer doubts with the texts of faith; respond to despair with words of hope; reply to fear with words of peace. If he does not know the appropriate verse, let him pray for direction. Victory is obtained by wielding the Sword of the Spirit.” Author~ Watchman Nee

Assumptions Are Not Truth…

Assumptions are not truth, so they originate from the father of lies. What does it look like to follow after an assumption? It engages our emotions in negative ways and sets ungodly attitudes in our soul. When we follow after an assumption, it is a bunny trail that always leads to a very frustrating dead end. Where assumptions are in play, God is not leading, the enemy is. Assumption is one of the enemy’s biggest playground in our mind. We need to shut it down.

Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brothers and sisters, fill your minds with beauty and truth. Meditate on whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is good, whatever is virtuous and praiseworthy. Keep to the script: whatever you learned and received and heard and saw in me—do it—and the God of peace will walk with you. We think multiple assumptions all day long. Endurance is stripped of strength when truth is trumped in our souls by assumptions. This is the hidden nature of an assumption, it steals our soul energy, our passion to go in the right direction. We are so used to entertaining assumptions, it is our nature to just do so. We need to be more aware of the subtle evil of assumption. The Voice

We Need To Give…

We need to give the Lord our God total control of our mind. We need to think the thoughts of Jesus Christ, not the assumptive unreality of our enemy. Our enemy wants us to live out of his made up reality, a night mare of endless hopelessness. Our enemy does not have a future, but we do. We need to live in the hope of our future, not the bleakness of his.

1 Corinthians 2:15-16 A person who walks by the Spirit examines everything, sizing it up and seeking out truth. But no one is able to examine or size up that kind of spiritual person, for the Scripture asks, “Does anyone know the mind of the Lord well enough to become His advisor?” But we do possess the mind of the Anointed One. The Voice

The Power Of Assumptions…

The power of an assumption lies in the fact it is a deception that divisively isolates us from truth. Every assumption has an evil intention of kicking out truth and setting up a strong hold in our mind. Yes the enemy plants assumptions in our mind with the goal of control. The enemy wants the assumptions to falsify truth and eventually exchange the reality of truth for a lie. We treat assumptions way too casually, they are dangerous and they target our soul with the plot of stirring up storms to unbalance our emotions and eventually sink our spirit.

2 Corinthians 10:4 The weapons of the war we’re fighting are not of this world but are powered by God and effective at tearing down the strongholds erected against His truth. The Voice

Truth Has The Power…

Truth has the power of reality, it lives powerfully in us in an eternal kind of way, where it is long lasting and packs a forever kind of punch in our now. Assumptions will never be permanent, they are always temporary. If the enemy can get us to believe an assumption is reality, then we can be used to create a negative realism that can never add value to us and sucks the life out of us a little at a time. Subtle is deception and this is the way assumption rolls in its deceptive kind of way, turning opinion into a false reality read.

“Spiritual strongholds begin with a thought. One thought becomes a consideration. A consideration develops into an attitude, which leads then to action. Action repeated becomes a habit, and a habit establishes a “power base for the enemy,” that is, a stronghold.”Quote By~Elisabeth Elliot

The Motive Of The Enemy…

The motive of the enemy using assumptions against us is a big motive of killing the life of God in us and it starts with a cunning deceitful thought. One little thought with one big evil intent of stealing away Kingdom reality and exchanging it for evil presumption. The enemy wants us to live in a cultural reality with a temporary mindset that always needs a fix of satisfaction. That is why assumptions start out small but then take over our whole focus and untruth has stepped into reality. Our thought life, makes an untruth a real reality in our mind. It is called day dreaming, but it has a wicked night life. We begin over thinking the assumption until we even begin believing it is real. Then the worst of it begins when we act on, talk about, worry on and make bad choices all because of an assumption that is not even real. At the bottom of every relational feud there is most likely an assumption or untruth that is being lived out as a reality.

Do not heed the jar of man’s warring opinions. Let God be true and every man a liar. The Bible is the Bible still. If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God. Author~ Horatius Bonar

An Assumption Is…

An assumption is something that has not happened in reality. Assumptions can stir up all kinds of negative things and as we let them run wild up the and down the corridors of our mind, thinking and over thinking all kinds of unreality, then they begin affecting our soul, spirit and body. A little assumption that we lean into can become a huge problem for our soul. We must learn to be aware of these assumptions and stop them at the get go when our enemy first introduces them to us.

“There is but one kind of knowledge concerning either the Bible or God which is valuable, and that is the truth revealed to our spirit by God’s Spirit. God does not explain Himself via man’s reasoning; never does man come to know God through rationalization.” Author~Watchman Nee

The Way To Begin…

The way to begin preparing to endure is to take back the full control of our mind. We need to purify our thoughts and think on the reality of truth alone. Stop all assumptions, presumptions and rationalizations at the origin of the first thought. Don’t think on them, don’t give them a second of your time. This is the training that will help us in these days to be able to discern truth. If you don’t know it to be truth, don’t think on it, cast it out of your mind. Say no to say so that has an origin of opinion, assumption, presumption and any non-truth whirling around in your mind. I say, no, I am not thinking on this, it is a waste of my time, it is not truth and probably will never be a part of my reality.

Philippians 1:9-10 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, New International Version

Honor Comes From…

Honor comes from following wholly-holy the truth of God. We must begin the training of our mind, that battle for our soul and spirit, begins with the taking of our mind by the enemy. Thinking is our choice, we must choose to think right and true things. Good thoughts of truth, hope and peace honor God. Yes, it is important to even honor God in our thought life. We honor Him in our outer life, we must learn to honor Him in our inner life and live a life of honor from the inside to the outside.

Job 1:1 Once there was a man from Uz by the name of Job. He was a very good man—his character spotless, his integrity unquestioned. In fact, he so believed in God that he sought to honor Him in all things. He deliberately avoided evil in all of his affairs. The Voice

It Is Easy To Spot…

It is easy to spot an assumption. It has not been verified. Truth is always verified with reality. Assumption is an unverified reality. We need to live in the verified. God is our Proof, Jesus is our Proven, The Holy Spirit is our Prover. We need to be found in our triune God, in a vital vertical relationship with the Verified God, the Proof, The Proven, The Prover. Our relationship with God is disrupted if we are chasing after an assumption. We stay must stay holy aligned with God’s truth and learn to live a verified life in Christ Jesus and through His Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. New Living Testament

The Word Of God Is…

The Word of God is powerful in that incredible way of shining the light on the fullness of truth. When the light is turned on, darkness is exposed and exterminated totally from our mind. The Word of God is key to the stopping of assumptions. The goal of assumptions is to put out the light in our mind and keep us stumbling around in the darkness. When we are walking in the dark, it is easier for the enemy to trick us in that cunning way of his. Our enemy will use assumptions to take us off the path of God’s will and bring us to an alternate and deadly route where there is a dim, greyness and we never really find a true reality. Have you ever stumbled around in the darkness, it is not fun. Assumptions are crooked places, they never straighten out to a narrow path, they always wind in that exhausting kind of way where you are wound up to go nowhere.

1 Corinthians 13:9-12 Gifts of knowledge and prophecy are partial at best, at least for now, but when the perfection and fullness of God’s kingdom arrive, all the parts will end. When I was a child, I spoke, thought, and reasoned in childlike ways as we all do. But when I became a man, I left my childish ways behind. For now, we can only see a dim and blurry picture of things, as when we stare into polished metal. I realize that everything I know is only part of the big picture. But one day, when Jesus arrives, we will see clearly, face-to-face. In that day, I will fully know just as I have been wholly known by God. It is true that we only see in part and the part we see, we can clearly see God at work and that stirs our hope. The enemy wants to put that hope out, so He takes us out of our holy reality with God by side stepping us through assumption. The minute we cling to an assumption, we are being taken from truthful reality that has a sway towards permanence and stability to fake realism that is supported temporarily by rationalization of an unreality. The Voice

We Get So Caught Up…

We get so caught up in our assumptions that we fail to see that it is not real and that is the deadly point. We begin living in unreality under the influence of a real enemy, who has now disrupted our vital-vertical relationship with God and His truth. What can get us back wholly-holy aligned with God? His Word, His powerful Word, it cuts through all unreality like a sharp knife and shatters darkness with God’s light. There is no assumption that can stand in the Light of God’s truth. We can kindle our own fire using the dead wood of assumptions, but this fire will flame out. Don’t walk by this man made fire because no doubt about it, you will end up in the dark and very soul tormented.

“There is no enemy can hurt us but by our own hands. Satan could not hurt us, if our own corruption betrayed us not. Afflictions cannot hurt us without our own impatience. Temptations cannot hurt us, without our own yieldance. Death could not hurt us, without the sting of our own sins. Sins could not hurt us, without our own impenitence.” Author~Joseph Hall

When I Look Back…

When I look back on the bad choices I have made in my life, I can see without a doubt that they began with entertaining an assumption. I have sat in a heap on the floor crying my eyes out and wondering how did I get here in the middle of this mess? How could I have wandered so far away from God’s will for my life? It began with an assumption. Running off with an assumption moves you at a crazy pace because assumptions have a very impulsive nature. Assumptions seem to be so little but they can alter the course of your whole life. Then you sit there saying how did that happen? How did I move so far away from God? We have to guard our hearts from assumptions, for out of our hearts flow the real issues of our lives.

John 10:9-10 I am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be liberated, will go in and go out, and will find pastures. The thief approaches with malicious intent, looking to steal, slaughter, and destroy; I came to give life with joy and abundance. The Voice

An Assumption Can’t Stand…

An assumption can’t stand through the truth test. Before we even begin to entertain or think on a thought in our mind we must ask a question. Is this true? Do I know this to be true? Is this reality? If it is not, then it is an assumption, presumption or rationalization coming to steal our vital vertical relationship with God, kill our reality, destroy the path to God’s will. Kill, steal and destroy, a little assumption has great power.

“We look upon the enemy of our souls as a conquered foe, so he is, but only to God, not to us.” Author~Oswald Chambers

Don’t Underestimate The Power…

Don’t underestimate the power of your enemy’s tactics. Stop the assumption, presumption and rationalization at the get go by giving it a truth test. Is this real? Is it true? Is it reality? Or is it a wish, daydream, or conjecture? Not the fullness of truth? Shut it down and kick it out. If you have not experienced it, if it has not be said to you, then it is not real reality, it is fake realism, an alternate route craftily and divisively designed by your enemy speaking lies into your mind. It is a time like no other to get prepared to live a 100% truth proof life. Be prepared to endure and bring God honor. Let’s be so.

“Follow after truth, pursue truth and nothing else. This will shut down the enemy from using assumption, rationalization and presumption against you. You have to train your mind and you can do this by being more God conscious. We have two ways we can see things. One is a worldly viewpoint, the other is a Kingdom perspective. One comes from our enemy, one comes from God. That is why it is vital for us to give our mind more to the things of God than the things of the world. Everything in this life needs to begin and end with God with His way, truth and life. We need to prepare our minds so we can endure and bring great honor to God. Prepare our minds with truth and listen more and most to The Bridegroom’s Voice this year.” Author~KimberlyMac

Prepare To Endure And Bring God Honor

We need to be prepared to endure and bring God honor in days such as the season ahead of us. I know without a doubt “The Bridegroom’s Voice” is the tool God will use, it is a book that was penned by me and written by God. God wants to use it in this generation to gain back our time and get a bigger focus on His Word, then on cultural say so. We are bombarded with cultural say so all day long, opinions, we all hear them and we hear them plastered on our minds like they are truth. People’s opinions are not truth, but they are our constant reality. God wants to displace, “flesh out” personal opinion and exchange it for truth. God wants to “flesh out our soul” and “truth in our spirit”. He will use this book, “The Bridegroom’s Voice” to gain more of our attention and focus more of our mind on His Kingdom Truth and less of it on cultural say so.

No More Slow Fade! Stop It Now!

This devotional will take a sacrifice of our time and it has been purposefully ordained by God to do so. It will feel unnatural to us to give God so much of our “time” to be in His Word every day more than we have been in it in a long time. We have had a slow fade away from the place of truth. God wants the center of our time and attention. God wants to prepare us to endure and to do it with His spirit and truth.
