“I will kneel in the dust at the foot of the cross. Where the wrath that I deserve it is gone, it is has passed, Your blood has hidden me. We will lift up the cup and the bread we will break remembering Your Love. We were fallen from grace but You took on our shame and nailed it to a cross. Mercy! Mercy! As endless as the sea. I will sing your halleluiah for all eternity.” Author~Matt Redman

Mercy Humbles Us

It humbles me to the core, this unbelievable mercy of our God. He showers it upon us day to day in that special way only He can. It is unconditional and can’t be grasped by our understanding. When we try to rationalize the why of His mercy, it exhausts our common sense. I have seen how God’s mercy has touched the lives of people who don’t know Him or even wanted to know Him, don’t serve Him, serve their own selfishness and yet God reaches out and heals them completely of diseases, He delivers them, He provides miraculously for them, even though they don’t acknowledge Him. This is His Mercy and it is beyond our understanding and very, very humbling to those whose lives are impacted by it.

“Nothing humbles and breaks the heart of a sinner like mercy and love. Souls that converse much with sin and wrath, may be much terrified; but souls that converse much with grace and mercy, will be much humbled.” Author~Thomas Brooks

Mercy Is Inexhaustible

Mercy is a Kingdom knowledge we will never understand this side of heaven and it is inexhaustible in its expression upon us daily. It surprises us, it shakes our religiosity to the core and causes our self-righteousness to tremble in the light of its infinite display of heavenly power. Mercy knocks out the judgmental spirit and derails all criticism with a powerful, miraculous punch.

Praised, honored, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:3 Amplified Bible

Mercy Impacts Our Lives Infinitely So

This God mercy is astounding in the way it is shared so ambiguously with no conditions. Just when God wants to, He sovereignly demonstrates His glory as He reaches to touch us purposefully so, impacting the life of someone miraculously so with that special, extraordinary Kingdom perspective of His, which is seen very clearly when His mercy is bestowed in that unconditional and random way of His.

“Our Savior kneels down and gazes upon the darkest acts of our lives. But rather than recoil in horror, he reaches out in kindness and says, ‘I can clean that if you want.’ And from the basin of his grace, he scoops a palm full of mercy and washes our sin.” Author~Max Lucado

Mercy Changes Us

We don’t deserve the mercy of God and we don’t have to merit it. His mercy is still unconditionally extended to all. His mercy comes at the time He designs, for the purpose that only He knows the reason for. He decides, He chooses and He lavishes His Mercy on our depraved human condition whenever He wills and however He wants. God’s mercy confounds the wisdom of the wise of this world, especially when God shares mercy that is undeserved and unmerited to sinners such as us. This kind of merciful display, it changes us forever.

Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love. Micah 7:18 New Living Testament

Mercy Evokes Humility

Mercy evokes humility and trumps pride in a way that nothing finite can do. Mercy is the infinite and miraculous edge of Jesus Christ, that can never be understood by finite men. Mercy is an undiscoverable mystery that has no timetable, no earthly agenda, no rational reason, no common sense and it breaks through the mundane human mind sets, shattering everything assumed, predictable and traditional. It is incredible!

“It is difficult to believe, but it is nevertheless true, that the sudden and wonderful change wrought by divine mercy in sinners, is usually more perfect and solid than that wrought in the just. Full of a sense of their own wretchedness and of God’s overwhelming goodness, they give themselves to Him more generously, are more deeply humbled by His favours, and bear His purifying trials more bravely.” Author~Jean Nicholas

Mercy Inspires AWE

The wonder of Your Mercy inspires such AWE in us Lord Jesus, may we never lose the astonishment of it. We are so grateful for Your mercy as the impact of it springs forth a AWE in us that is boundless and limitless. The more we stand in AWE of You, Lord Jesus, and the more we develop our AWE in Your mysterious mercy, the closer we come to You and the more we grow deeper in love with You. Your mercy inspires us to give You our all, because we have been forgiven so much and given Your mercy in the all of our everything even when we did not deserve it.

And he said, O Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and showing mercy and loving-kindness to Your servants who walk before You with all their heart. 1 Kings 8:23 Amplified Bible

Mercy Is An Unexpected Visitor

There is a miraculous AWE that accompanies God’s mercy and it powerfully breaks through the dark places of our soul with an uninvited light that illuminates, shattering the darkness and transforming us in ways that no finite person or thing could ever accomplish. Mercy is an unexpected guest to our soul, something that was not invited, but came in as a visitor we were not ready for it. Mercy comes suddenly, pushing past our pride and cleaning things up, purifying us and leaving a precious light that glows the glory of God’s unconditional love.

“We would be still and know that You are God…. We stand in awe of You…, Your awesome holiness, majestic splendour, blazing glory, limitless power, and unquestionable sovereignty. We worship You for Your flawless character, Your infinite knowledge and wisdom, Your absolute justice, unswerving faithfulness, unending mercy…. We bow our hearts and bend our knees before… Your dazzling beauty, Your fascinating personality, Your incomprehensible humility, Your unsearchable understanding, and Your unfathomable love….Our greatest need is to have a far greater revelation of what You are really like. We ask You to meet that need.” Author~Joy Dawson

Mercy Is Awe And Awe Transforms Us

Awe of God changes us, setting up an atmosphere where pride could never return too. God’s mercy ushers us into and AWE-GOD relationship, a vital-vertical friendship with God that is so sweet, so fulfilling, so powerful that our lives will never be the same again. Awe begins and ends with the Mercy of God, a mysterious and miraculous God thing, that we may never understand this side of heaven, but we fully embrace the effect of it as it shines where, when and how God Sovereignly and purposefully designs. AWE-GOD!

O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever! Let Israel now say that His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever. Let the house of Aaron, the priesthood, now say that His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever. Let those now who reverently and worshipfully fear the Lord say that His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever. Out of my distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free and in a large place. Psalm 118:1-5 Amplified Bible
