A Revolution Of Media Excellence=Increasing His Truth, Decreasing Our Opinions!

Less Is More: He must increase, I must decrease!

John 3: 29-31

He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the groomsman who stands by and listens to him rejoices greatly and heartily on account of the bridegroom’s voice. This then is my pleasure and joy, and it is now complete. He must increase, but I must decrease. He must grow more prominent; I must grow less so. He Who comes from above heaven is far above all others; he who comes from the earth belongs to the earth, and talks the language of earth his words are from an earthly standpoint. He Who comes from heaven is far above all others, far superior to all others in prominence and in excellence. Amplified Bible

Less of Me, More Of Him.  Less of My talk, More of His.  Less of my opinion, More of His truth. Less Is More! God’s pen from His heart to the parchment of my words.

Less Is More!  Lord Jesus as Your servant warrior, I need more of You and less of me.  The media of our world serves us with so many unnecessary, impulsive and shallow thoughts through more and more words that truly mean less and less.  Every day we get more media spin and less and less truth and life. Less of worldly media is more of God! Holy Spirit, cause us to shake off this communicational disparage that marks our generation with more of our foolish perceptions and less of God’s truth and help us to truly be what You have designed us to be with two ears and one mouth. Less Is More!

Proverbs 8:12-14

“I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.  To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power. Today’s New International Version

prayitup

  • ****I pray that we will be Your servant warriors who usher in a new era of servitude and begin changing the communicative style of our generation one relationship at a time, as we begin to shed the “mediatic dysfunctional spin” of our life-path and stop trying to manipulate our way with empty words instead of by Your Spirit, by Your wisdom, by Your favor and through Your grace. Less impulsive talking is more of Your wisdom.  Less Is More!
  • ****Father God clean up the hearts of Your  servant warriors, may the change in our generation’s mediatic dysfunction begin with us. I pray less would be more and that we would speak less, listen more and allow Your influence to replace the multitude of our words.
  • ****Holy Spirit begin this work in the  servant warriors right now! more of You, less of us.  More using of our spiritual ears = less wagging of our carnal tongues.  Less empty words, more spiritual truths.  Less Is More!
  • ****Father God, change the perspective of our tongues and may we speak only after we have walked the second mile with people on their personal life-path.
  • ****Lord help us, Your servant warriors to turn the validity of our words fully in the direction of encouragement and truth by listening more to You and shedding the impulsive speech that has seared the reputation of our generation by casually surfaced words laced with ulterior motives; expressions of speech that ferociously, outwardly manipulate and viciously, inwardly wound the soul, confuse the mind and bury the spirit under a suffocating discouragement that eventually snowballs to a depressive dead end.

Proverbs 26

People who shrug off deliberate deceptions, saying, “I didn’t mean it, I was only joking, “Are worse than careless campers who walk away from smoldering campfires. The Message Bible

In our society of carefree freedom of speech, we have been trained to say exactly what we want without any priority of servant-hood or care for the listener.  Impulsive speech habits are a by-product of our generation’s, free speech without responsibility policy, and is usually characterized by impulsively talking without thinking, using a communication pattern that is fore-fronted in sarcasm. These sound bites of bitter criticisms deliver our personal opinions backed up by half-truths and packaged in false fronts of empty laughter which jokingly crushes the spirit of another. The enemy loves to tag onto this kind of communiqué and follow it up with his own inner backlash, a blast of deceit that strikes the soul of the receiver crushing their  inner self-image. Free speech then is no longer free, but exacts a cost from the spirit of the hearer.

Ecclesiastes 5:2-4

Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God.  God is in heaven  and you are on earth, so let your words be few.  A dream comes when there are many cares, and many words mark the speech of a fool. Today’s New International Version

prayitup

  • ****Holy Spirit help us as Your servant warriors to keep our communication above board, excellent in purity, clean and holy. Lord may we never be the delivers of a  joke laced with a kidding spirit that lashes the listener’s self-image with the stripes of self-doubt.
  • ****Father cause us, Your servant warriors to lose the spin of our tongues and take up listening more to Your truth.
  • ****Jesus cause us not to be so quick to judge with our tongues, cause us to be quiet and be willing to go the second mile to gain the Godly perspective before we speak empty, purposeless words, that do not bear the mark of the Holy Spirit’s timing, truth or encouragement.  Less judgmental words is more quality relationships. Less Is More!
  • ****Father God the stain of pain in our generation has been the human opinion, it has become our idol and it has replaced truth with judgement and justice has been sacrificed on the altar of human perspective.  Change us.

Ecclesiastes 6:10-12

Whatever exists has already been named, and what humanity is has been known; no one can contend with someone who is stronger. The more the words, the less the meaning, and how does that profit anyone? For who knows what is good for people in life, during the few and meaningless days they pass through like a shadow? Who can tell them what will happen under the sun after they are gone? Today’s New International Version

prayitup

  • ****Father God cleanse us, Your servant warriors and keep our minds cleared of human opinion, help us not to be so casual with our personal perspectives. This broad minded living smears the justice that You bought on Calvary by impulsive human opinions. Quiet our tongues and open our ears that we might hear Your wisdom and mercy and have eye sight that looks past the surface to the heart.
  • *****Cause us Holy Spirit as servant warriors to learn to take the time needed to experience the life-path of others, being servant-listeners by sacrificing our human right to talk more and using our second ear, our inner ear to hear God’s voice and truth.
  • ****I pray that our quality time spent with You, Lord Jesus will give us clarity beyond the clamor of the multitude of illegitimate, mediatic opinions that are daily thrown into our life-path. These dysfunctional perceptions exchange the wholeness of truth for half a reality that is spun with a controlling human emotional appeal. It is riveting but not real, not wholly true.
  • Guard our hearts Holy Spirit, may we never casually speak out life-perspectives derived of only that which is seen on the surface.  Help us to live deeper in You.

We accept most media into our lives because of the laziness of our generation.  Why take time to check it out, instead we talk it up and pass on half-truths.  It is time to go the second mile before we exercise our freedom to speak. Live life on the narrow path speaking from a life-perspective focused on the fullness of truth.  How can we speak with undivided hearts of compassion, if all we know is the viewpoint of our own opinions formed by our life experiences?

prayitup

  • ****Jesus, create in the hearts of your servant warriors the God driven passion that cautiously steps out, pressing towards the heart of the matter and finding the fullness of truth no matter how long it takes. May we never  allow our tongues to expel shallow, judgmental, mediatic  copy-cat words;  smoothly delivered on the surface, but inwardly jagged, cutting to the core of the listener tearing asunder his spirit and soul.  Help us to be better than this Lord Jesus, give us a desire to be excellent in our speech and heart guarded when listening to the media.
  • ****Father God, we Your servant warriors repent of our casual approach to the use of words, words that You designed to be so powerfully used to help the hearer from the inside out, not destroy them from the outside in.

Proverbs 10:18-24

Liars secretly hoard hatred; fools openly spread slander.   The more talk, the less truth; the wise measure their words  The speech of a good person is worth waiting for; the blabber of the wicked is worthless.   The talk of a good person is rich fare for many, but chatterboxes die of an empty heart. The Message Bible

It is the curse of our generation, the impulsive opinions, the mediatic frenzy of words manipulated with satan’s spin, where truth is replaced with deception. We live in a world filled with political correct words that are motivated more by self-preservation and self-gain instead of words that altruistically put others above personal benefit and encourage, comfort and heal the receiver of them. The freedom of speech of this generation, deceptively so, is not entirely free; it is being charged to the receiver of it: electronically extracted from heart to heart and depleting the savings of the Spirit of this country.

Job 16: 1-5

Job Defends Himself. If You Were in My Shoes  Then Job defended himself: “I’ve had all I can take of your talk.    What a bunch of miserable comforters! Is there no end to your windbag speeches?  What’s your problem that you go on and on like this? If you were in my shoes, I could talk just like you. I could put together a terrific harangue and really let you have it. But I’d never do that. I’d console and comfort, make things better, not worse! Message Bible

prayitup

  • ****Jesus we are caught up in this mediatic frenzy of impulsive words every day spilling out opinions and personal perspectives from our TV’s, Internets, and Radios and it rubs against the very heart of our Christianity.  We are shoulder to shoulder with it daily as thousands of forms of media spin the truth, fitting it into the perfect pattern of the political correctness of our age. ****Daily in our world, hundreds of thousands of personal opinions are casually spoken and debated as if they were the reality of Your truth.  Help us Lord God to shut it off, this dysfunctional mediatic frenzy and listen more and most to You.  Less mediatic opinion is more truth. Less Is More!
  • ****Father God change us, we repent of our mediatic more and cry out to You for less spin which means more truth. Less is More!
  • ****Help us Lord Jesus, Your servant warriors to start a “Less is More” revival, a cleansing of our hearts that reaches all the way from our head to our tongues that we might be a people of two ears and one mouth, Your servants who dish out less media and more truth, so those in our life path might receive more of You; More of Your truth and less of our mediatic-viewpoint driven opinions.  Make it so Lord Jesus.  Less of our casual speaking and more of Your kingdom perspective listening. Less is More.

Proverbs 26:16-17

Lazy people consider themselves smarter than seven wise counselors. 17 Interfering in someone else’s argument is as foolish as yanking a dog’s ears. New Living Translation

We are a lazy generation when it comes to our speech habits!  We pump our minds and emotional senses full with valueless mediatic words that are, filled with emotional additives and willful synthetics, nothing completely real, nothing nourishing to our souls, nothing that completely satisfies our need for information.  We manipulate through life with meaningless words as we lazily and casually make swift judgments through personal opinions that we gained by listening to others talk up nonsensical pretense.  We carelessly speak making statements dished out as truth, yet are merely founded upon opinion.  Talking things up into an emotional frenzy is easier for us then working hard at discovering the truth.  Why should we go the second mile and see past the circumstance to the heart of the situation? Because that would mean we would have to leave our comfort zone and walk a different life-perspective in someone else’s shoes, that is too much work.  In our generation laziness has been the idol and we worship it by speaking out second hand assumptions and quick judgments instead of first hand truth. Truth takes time, white-lies are quick and disposable.  It is time to shed the impulsive, lazy, mediatic, dysfunctional free speech (how is that for a prescriptive of this generation) and walk in the fullness of truth, go the second mile, track in the listener’s shoes and speak out of the heart of God’s kingdom perspective, not the mediatic mind-sets of the world. I believe that as we do this, we will find that things are not as they seem, that we only see in part, God see’s in full. God see’s the heart and we need to lean into His kingdom perspective.

Proverbs 26:24-26

Enemies disguise themselves with their lips, but in their hearts they harbor deceit. Though their speech is charming, do not believe them, for seven abominations fill their hearts.  Their malice may be concealed by deception,  but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. prayitup

  • ****Help us Holy Spirit, Your servant warriors, to be found completely in Your truth and be servants of the whole truth and nothing but the truth. May we be known as full Christ-blooded Christians that are not casual or impulsive in our speech, but purposeful in Your Spirit and truth.  Change us and guard our hearts from the sickness of our generation, this mediatic frenzy of impulsive words, self-motivated opinions and exaggerated half-truths.  Guard our hearts Lord God so out of our tongues may be spoken the true issues of life that are deeply rooted in the Love of the Father God, sacrificial in nature and unconditional in justice.
  • ****Holy Spirit help us, Your servant warriors, to bring about change, revival in truth and responsibility in speech in our generation, true freedom of expression in one relationship at a time! Begin with us, Your servant warriors as we walk the second mile listening more with our second ear and hearing Your voice above the mediatic clamor of our world.
  • **** Holy Spirit, bring to remembrance less of us, more of You before we impulsively share or casually speak.  Help us to be responsible to Your kingdom and carry forth justice in our words, truth in our opinions and whole hearted encouragement as every word unites in the motivation of less for ourselves and more for the person who hears them.  Make it so in us, use us Lord Jesus to begin a revolution of excellence: Less Is More!  Less of us, more of You.  Two ears, one mouth, one heart, undivided in truth and Spirit.
  • ****Jesus cleanse our hearts and change us, change us. More of You, less of us.  Less Is More! Jesus! So Be It!  Amen!

So, my very dear friends, don’t get thrown off course. Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle. He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures. James 1:17 (The Message)

Matthew Henry Commentary

The origin of evil and temptation is in our own hearts. Stop the beginnings of sin, or all the evils that follow must be wholly charged upon us. God has no pleasure in the death of men, as he has no hand in their sin; but both sin and misery are owing to themselves. As the sun is the same in nature and influences, though the earth and clouds, often coming between, make it seem to us to vary, so God is unchangeable, and our changes and shadows are not from any changes or alterations in him. What the sun is in nature, God is in grace, providence, and glory; and infinitely more. As every good gift is from God, so particularly our being born again, and all its holy, happy consequences come from him. A true Christian becomes as different a person from what he was before the renewing influences of Divine grace, as if he were formed over again. We should devote all our faculties to God’s service, that we may be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.

Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it. Use your heads as you live and work among outsiders. Don’t miss a trick. Make the most of every opportunity. Be gracious in your speech. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I’m no longer calling you servants because servants don’t understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I’ve named you friends because I’ve let you in on everything I’ve heard from the Father.

Matthew Henry Commentary John 15

His love to his disciples. Those whom God loves as a Father, may despise the hatred of all the world. As the Father loved Christ, who was most worthy, so he loved his disciples, who were unworthy. All that love the Savior should continue in their love to him, and take all occasions to show it. The joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment, but the joy of those who abide in Christ’s love is a continual feast. They are to show their love to him by keeping his commandments. If the same power that first shed abroad the love of Christ’s in our hearts, did not keep us in that love, we should not long abide in it. Christ’s love to us should direct us to love each other. He speaks as about to give many things in charge, yet names this only; it includes many duties.

I’m feeling terrible—I couldn’t feel worse! Get me on my feet again. You promised, remember?    When I told my story, you responded; train me well in your deep wisdom. Help me understand these things inside and out so I can ponder your miracle-wonders. My sad life’s dilapidated, a falling-down barn; build me up again by your Word. Barricade the road that goes Nowhere; grace me with your clear revelation. I choose the true road to Somewhere, I post your road signs at every curve and corner.  I grasp and cling to whatever you tell me; God, don’t let me down! I’ll run the course you lay out for me if you’ll just show me how. God, teach me lessons for living so I can stay the course. Give me insight so I can do what you tell me— my whole life one long, obedient response. Guide me down the road of your commandments;  I love traveling this freeway!  Give me a bent for your words of wisdom, and not for piling up loot. Divert my eyes from toys and trinkets, invigorate me on the pilgrim way. Affirm your promises to me— promises made to all who fear you.  Deflect the harsh words of my critics—   but what you say is always so good.  See how hungry I am for your counsel;  preserve my life through your righteous ways! Psalm 119:25-40 (The Message) Copyright © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson

John answered, “It’s not possible for a person to succeed—I’m talking about eternal success—without heaven’s help. You yourselves were there when I made it public that I was not the Messiah but simply the one sent ahead of him to get things ready. The one who gets the bride is, by definition, the bridegroom. And the bridegroom’s friend, his ‘best man’—that’s me—in place at his side where he can hear every word, is genuinely happy. How could he be jealous when he knows that the wedding is finished and the marriage is off to a good start? 29-30″That’s why my cup is running over. This is the assigned moment for him to move into the center, while I slip off to the sidelines.  31-33″The One who comes from above is head and shoulders over other messengers from God. The earthborn is earthbound and speaks earth language; the heavenborn is in a league of his own. He sets out the evidence of what he saw and heard in heaven. No one wants to deal with these facts. But anyone who examines this evidence will come to stake his life on this: that God himself is the truth. Matthew Henry Commentary

John knew that Jesus came from heaven as the Son of God, while he was a sinful, mortal man, who could only speak about the more plain subjects of religion. The words of Jesus were the words of God; he had the Spirit, not by measure, as the prophets, but in all fullness.

I am in a holy alliance with god in his word!

My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit. Then you won’t feed the compulsions of selfishness. For there is a root of sinful self-interest in us that is at odds with a free spirit, just as the free spirit is incompatible with selfishness. These two ways of life are antithetical, so that you cannot live at times one way and at times another way according to how you feel on any given day. Why don’t you choose to be led by the Spirit and so escape the erratic compulsions of a law-dominated existence?  It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. I could go on.  This isn’t the first time I have warned you, you know. If you use your freedom this way, you will not inherit God’s kingdom. What Makes You Think You Can Race Against Horses? You are right, O God, and you set things right. I can’t argue with that. But I do have some questions: Why do bad people have it so good? Why do con artists make it big? You planted them and they put down roots.   They flourished and produced fruit. They talk as if they’re old friends with you, but they couldn’t care less about you. Meanwhile, you know me inside and out. You don’t let me get by with a thing! Jeremiah 12:1-3 (The Message)Copyright © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson

Idols in Their Hearts Some of the leaders of Israel approached me and sat down with me. God’s Message came to me: “Son of Man, these people have installed idols in their hearts. They have embraced the wickedness that will ruin them. Why should I even bother with their prayers? Therefore tell them, ‘The Message of God, the Master: All in Israel who install idols in their hearts and embrace the wickedness that will ruin them and still have the gall to come to a prophet, be on notice: I, God, will step in and personally answer them as they come dragging along their mob of idols. I am ready to go to work on the hearts of the house of Israel, all of whom have left me for their idols.’  6-8 “Therefore, say to the house of Israel: ‘God, the Master, says, Repent! Turn your backs on your no-god idols. Turn your backs on all your outrageous obscenities. To every last person from the house of Israel, including any of the resident aliens who live in Israel—all who turn their backs on me and embrace idols, who install the wickedness that will ruin them at the center of their lives and then have the gall to go to the prophet to ask me questions—I, God, will step in and give the answer myself. I’ll oppose those people to their faces, make an example of them—a warning lesson—and get rid of them so you will realize that I am God.
