Psalm 118:5-9 When trouble surrounded me, I cried out to the Eternal; He answered me and brought me to a wide, open space. The Eternal is with me, so I will not be afraid of anything. If God is on my side, how can anyone hurt me? The Eternal is on my side, a champion for my cause; so when I look at those who hate me, victory will be in sight. It is better to put your faith in the Eternal for your security than to trust in people. It is better to put your faith in Him for your security than to trust in princes. The Voice

Jesus Is Our Healer-Restorer

I seek God’s comfort and shelter, I come to Him and His arms of love embrace me today. My soul has been beat up and wounded from the false accusations and vents of a person in an alcoholic rage. When we open our lives up to others, in close relationship with them, we can be hurt. Jesus understands. He paid the price of betrayal by those He loved and served, those close to His heart. He laid down His right to offense and He died their death. Jesus said come to me, you weary and worn and I will give you rest. So I rest in Him. Jesus is my living water, He refreshes and restores my wounded soul. He restores the brokenness of my heart.

“O God, of Thy goodness give me Thyself, for Thou art enough for me, and I may ask nothing that is less and find any full honors to Thee. Give me Thyself.” Lady Julian

Jesus Opens Our Spiritual Eyes

Jesus also opens our spiritual eyes to see that we fight a fight not of flesh and blood but of principalities and powers of our true enemy. God, by His Holy Spirit, shows us and grows us through the truth of every relational breach, that the enemy has his foot in the gap, holding it open, pouring his vile adversity and enmity, seeking to kill steal and destroy as usual. We must close the breach in the relationship by intercession. Prayer closes the gap in the spirit and keeps the enemy at bay. Resist the enemy through prayer and he will flee, stand in the gap and raise up a standard of righteousness in the name of Jesus.

“To intercede means to stand in the gap for someone else. If there is a breach in people’s relationship with God, we have the privilege of placing ourselves in that breach and praying for them.” Author~ Joyce Meyer

Resemble The Healer

Our enemy uses wounded people to wound other people. It is satan’s despicable way. I am called by God to let go of my right to be offended, to forgive and to pray for the person who wounded me, to intercede for them, because this is my reasonable service to my God in response to what He has done for me. Instead of anger, Jesus chose compassion, I am to be like Him. Jesus loved us, He went to the cross and died for us. Jesus loved us like He had never been hurt by humanity, and this also is our reasonable service unto Him. Wounded people wound people. Christians wounded by others, love those who have wounded them like they have never been wounded by them. Resemble The Healer, Who shed His blood into our wounds, instead of drawing attention to your gaping heart wound, point people to Jesus, The Healer.

Colossians 3:12 So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy, set apart, sanctified for His purpose and well-beloved by God Himself, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper; Amplified Bible

Beware Of The Trap Of Self righteousness

The self-righteousness trap we fall into when we are wounded is the need to be right. Our pride bucks up. We feel like we need to be the last voice spoken, we need to be understood, we need to be seen as in the right. We don’t need to be right as much as we need Jesus. We lose our way when we pursue the need to be right more than we pursue the mission of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is our Advocate and we need to look to Him to keep and prove our reputation, because He can and He will. We don’t need to defend ourselves in the heat of a battle, we need to point others to Jesus, who is the ultimate defensive weapon.

Isaiah 62:6 Isaiah O Jerusalem, I have set intercessors on your walls who shall cry to God all day and all night for the fulfillment of his promises. Take no rest, all you who pray, and give God no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes her respected and admired throughout the earth. Living Bible

Man Made Fires Flame Out

We have a choice to cling to an offense or cling to the Mercy of God. When we cling to God, the weapon formed against us by our enemy will not prosper in our soul. People steal all kinds of things from you through words and actions that are hurtful. They cheat, lie, kill, steal and destroy, but we stay focused on their actions, we look up, we are embraced by the Hands of His Mercy. We are fed by His promises and we stand with them until He changes things up for our good. We have a choice, we can believe God, or we can strive to make our own way. Which one? Will you light your own fire and walk by the light of a man-made fire that will flame out or will you walk in the Light of God?

Isaiah 50:10-11 Who among you fears the Lord and obeys his Servant? If such men walk in darkness, without one ray of light, let them trust the Lord, let them rely upon their God. But see here, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves from your own fires and not from God’s; you will live among sorrows. Living Bible

Take Up Your Cross

Prince of peace, we lay our cares down at your feet and give our worn, tattered, weary and wounded lives to You, the ONE Who loves us most, the One Who heals and restores our soul. Jesus, the One Who has proven His love for us by paying the highest price for us, we surrender our cares to You, we lay them down at the foot of Your cross and we take up our cross and follow in Your footprints.

Ezekiel 22:30 I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the sake of the land, that I would not destroy it, but I found no one not even one. Amplified Bible

Standing In The Gap

Jesus we pray for those who have stolen from us our joy, our peace, who have wounded us and stolen from our provisions, who have taken and taken and are still not satisfied, but want to take more. We pray for them, knowing that You promised that no weapon formed against us would prosper. Please return to us all that was stolen and bless those who have wounded us, stolen from us, bless them with Your forever salvation, bless their lives with the gift of You, come into their lives Lord Jesus.

Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And this is their vindication from Me,” says the Lord.

Jesus Is Enough, Come To Him

Jesus, we come to You, we are listening for Your heart of mercy. We come to You, tired and worn by this world, looking for that special rest that You give. We are laying down our burdens, laying down before you the dysfunctional people in our lives, those in the grip of substance abuse, those gripped by greed that steal from others, those whose lives are all for themselves, we lay them at Your feet. We rest in Your Presence now, the One we love, the ONE Who loves us most. Jesus, completely unburdened, we sit and wait for Your Healing-Restoring touch. Fill us with the JOY of Your living water, quench our thirst, restore our brokenness, we look to You, Jesus. Help us to look like You, to speak like You did, to act like You, Who even though You had been betrayed, forsaken and terribly wounded in body and soul, you acted like You had not even been hurt by saying: Father forgive them, they know not what they do. And then You died and paid the highest price for those who had betrayed and wounded You.

Ephesians 4:2-3 In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do. While I’m locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel. I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences. ~ The Message
