Deeply Disturbed

Matthew 2:2-12 Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, 2 “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” 3 King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. 4 He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?” 5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they said, “for this is what the prophet wrote: 6 ‘And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.'” 7 Then Herod called for a private meeting with the wise men, and he learned from them the time when the star first appeared. 8 Then he told them, “Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child. And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!” After this interview the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! 11 They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. 12 When it was time to leave, they returned to their own country by another route, for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod. Is Your Soul Deeply Disturbed Today?

When we are “deeply disturbed” we need to really think about the origin of this. Is it the enemy stirring us up, setting us up to be used for his evil intention? Be very careful with emotions that are “deeply disturbed”, guard your heart against the impulsivity of thought, attitude, words and actions that a “deeply disturbed” soul creates.

Stop The Thought Processes

Stop the thought process that is coming out of a deeply disturbed soul and turn to the thoughts of God, the wisdom, truth and comfort of God’s mind. Set your thoughts with the truth of God today and follow after God’s truth first. When we follow after our “deeply disturbed” soul, it always dead ends us, because the motive of our enemy is to kill, steal and destroy the all of our everything.

Listen Up To GOD

We must learn to listen up to God first, especially when our soul is “deeply disturbed”. When we listen up to God’s way, truth and are filled with the life of His Holy Spirit, the odds of our soul becoming “deeply disturbed” and wronged by our enemy, are diminished. Listening up to God shatters the darkness of a “deeply disturbed” soul with His Light, which is able to lead us out of darkness into the purity of rightness.

Guard Our Heart

We must guard our hearts with God’s Word, this shuts the door of our minds to the “deeply disturbed” ways of our enemy. To guard our hearts is the best course of action in this life we live, where we have an enemy waiting to deceive us for his wicked motive. We must open our soul to the light of God and open our heart wide to the truth and ways of our God. On this day, we will not be “deeply disturbed” by our enemy. On this day, we will be deeply stirred and changed for the better, used for the best by our God, whose motive is always for our good and the glory of His Kingdom.

My son, pay attention to all the words I am telling you. Lean in closer so you may hear all I say. Keep them before you; meditate on them; set them safely in your heart. For those who discover them, they are life. They bring wholeness and healing to their bodies. Above all else, watch over your heart; diligently guard it because from a sincere and pure heart come the good and noble things of life. Proverbs 4:20-24 The Voice

We are demolishing arguments and ideas, every high-and-mighty philosophy that pits itself against the knowledge of the one true God. We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them into obedience to the Anointed One. 2 Corinthians 10:5 The Voice

Most of all, friends, always rejoice in the Lord! I never tire of saying it: Rejoice! Keep your gentle nature so that all people will know what it looks like to walk in His footsteps. The Lord is ever present with us. Don’t be anxious about things; instead, pray. Pray about everything. He longs to hear your requests, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful for what has come. And know that the peace of God (a peace that is beyond any and all of our human understanding) will stand watch over your hearts and minds in Jesus, the Anointed One. Finally, brothers and sisters, fill your minds with beauty and truth. Meditate on whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is good, whatever is virtuous and praiseworthy. Keep to the script: whatever you learned and received and heard and saw in me—do it—and the God of peace will walk with you. Philippians 4:4-9 The Voice
