The Bridegroom’s Café is a pretty awesome internet café. There are a lot of tables specifically designed for you to pick from a menu you think will delight your soul. Most of what is served in this incredible café are “spiritual meals” what makes them so unique is how the ingredients come from my personal conversation with God. I have an ongoing conversation with God every day, it never stops, His Holy Spirit is always influencing my thoughts and bringing about some amazing recipes of spiritual nourishment. My Constant conversation with God is one of those meals that is kind of sloppy and thrown together, I like those kind of teatimes, you never know what it is going to taste like, look like or leave you with, but you always know it will be nourishing. So, I hope you enjoy this Constant Conversation with God, it will be full of spiritual nutrients!

Patient Endurance

Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth. Revelation 3:10

Family Life – Prayer Exhortation

Family life is crazy busy at times and it is so easy to become exclusive. Sometimes we don’t even realize we are doing it, but to the person that is excluded by our lack of attention, they painfully realize it. I know I am so guilty of being exclusive at times, I read this today and thought it was great wisdom to share with the family.

“If you run too fast, you will rush right past the opportunity to include others in a better decision. The wisdom of the whole far exceeds the insight of one, so slow down, include others, pray, and plan. Most important, you are integrated into God’s will and you are a significant part of Providence’s plan. Even when men exclude you, He includes you.” Boyd Bailey Wisdom Hunters

National Prayer

Cleanse our nation Lord Jesus, and give us a passion for Your Purity in thought, word and deed. Create in us a desire for truth, help us to stop settling for speculation, assumption and presumption. Help us Jesus to purify our speech with the wholeness of truth, help us not to be irresponsible with our spoken words, but to bear the responsibility of truthfulness to the ears that hear them.

Daily Music Inspiration

On this day, a usually a busy day for us, so much to do, God says be still, take some time to sit before Him with an open heart, a heart lifted up in worship of Him. We have been gifted with so much, a faithful God, a trustworthy God, a God Who listens and answers us in that miraculous way of His. On this day, take some time to be still before God, connect heart to Heart and spirit to Spirit and know the AWE of the ONE Who loves us so purely, truthfully and incredibly. Be Still. Psalm 46:10 “Be still, be calm, see, and understand I am the True God. I am honored among all the nations. I am honored over all the earth.” Jesus. #ListenUP

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. 1 John 1:1-5

“Today, you will be somewhere! Right?! We all will be somewhere, this is a given. So, wherever you are, whatever platform or position or place you have today, #LightItUP with God’s glory. Be like Jesus and in your place of influence #OnThisDay, glow God’s glory. Ask God to be a part of the all and everything of your day, ask Him to guide you by His Holy Spirit, to strengthen You, by His living Word and be like Him. It is so easy to reflect our feelings or mirror our culture, this is the broad path, it takes no energy from us, but to walk in the truth and wisdom of God, this is the narrow path. When you walk with Jesus, by the friendship of His Holy Spirit’s guidance, You will be so amazed how God shines through you in that miraculous way of His, where you don’t even have to say a word, His Presence is just glowing His glory out of you. Be wholly-holy Gods today and glow God’s glory.” KimberlyMac #RevealTruth https://thebridegroomscafe.com

Family Life Thoughts

“Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us.” Philippians 3:17 AMEN

Yes Lord, we so need this prayer in our family life and in our nation today. We must flip-flop our alignment to all things “media”, listening to the speculations, presumptions, rationalizations, opinions and assumptions of people, instead of asking You to reveal Truth, depending upon You as our source of truth. Help us to be wholly-holy aligned with You first. The way we should “think” should be directed by Your Word first. Help us to change things up in our lives, may You be the first Voice we go to for the real truth and may our reality not be built upon the falsities and fakeness of our cultural media, whose speculation is enticed by motives that are not pure, by principalities and powers that are not for us. Help us Lord God to be godly examples in our family lives.

No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. Growing Through Patient Endurance

These are “raw thoughts” not edited…

Roaring Emotions

Patient Endurance. I believe that during a transitional time, a time where you know a change is coming and the change is not yet there. So there is an old life season you are in and a new life season ahead. I call this transition. In these transitional times of my life I have found that my patient endurance is knocked around a bit because this time seems to be a time where my emotions are most likely “roaring” and I can’t hear above them or see around them at times. My emotions are roaring right now, they are demanding my full attention, creating an atmosphere in my soul during this transitional time that is self-feeding pity, an all about me focus.

Attention Span

Breaking my attention span on me during this transitional time is vital for me gaining a patient endurance that will grow me through the day. God has spoken, change is coming and transition is upon me, I am in it, therefore I must bend my will in the direction of a kingdom perspective and not let my emotions sway me to a fixed gaze on a worldly viewpoint. I have found that my worldly viewpoint is in my face during a time of transition.

Transitional Times

There are times I believe that we pray and God heals us, the moment we pray. I was praying for a friend of mine, on my face for two hours while she was in surgery and when I got up out of that prayer time, I knew God had healed her. She had a transitional time that God allowed between this moment of prayer and her body being completely free of this disease. During this transitional time, she grew in ways that she would never have grown in spirit and truth and patient endurance was established in her life. Her worldly viewpoint now is that she is totally healed from this ailment of body, given a clean bill of health from her doctor.

Transitional Healing

Healed or not healed? During this transition time from the prayer to the good doctor’s report, she still had symptoms, surgery and suffering that she grew through, fighting the good fight of faith, developing a patient endurance that kept her focused on a Kingdom perspective that she was healed. During this time of transition, her emotions roared and she had to subdue them, fight the fight of faith with everything God had given her, equipped her with already and with the development of her patient endurance, God won the fight for her focus. As her spirit steadied itself in God and her faith arose, so did her healing.

Common Denominator

I know my transition time is different than someone else, but I also know that whatever we are transitioning through and to, God is the common denominator and His Presence, His Word, His Holy Spirit will be with us and grow us through to our new life season with a patient endurance that we won’t be able to call our own, but will have a very beautiful miraculous look to it. Yes, my emotions are roaring and I don’t “feel” like I can make it through this transitional season, I don’t feel like I can make it through this day, being beat up by feelings of loneliness, doubt and despair, so I cling to God and dig my life roots deeper in Him and wait for Him to save me out of this soulish nightmare and out of this waiting, I find as I lay my head down every night, that I have made it through by the grace of God.

Life Season Transitions

I am in the midst of a life transition and the time for that transition has been slightly adjusted to be quite possibly longer than I thought it would. My focus has been on my worldly viewpoint which centers my thoughts on this phrase: I can’t do this. It is this thought pattern that shakes up my soul in that downward spiral and creates an atmosphere of a soul with emotionally roaring and a panic in the pit of your stomach.

Mind Sets

What we allow our minds to dwell on, our thought patterns, things we read, things that are said, things we watch and hear, they all contain words that have power over our soul. Words are a powerful influence over whether or not you will achieve patient endurance. My experience has been that the Word of God is the best place to go to feed your soul, to change your emotions up, so you don’t follow after your feelings and get caught up in the emotional whirlwinds of a roaring soul.

The Bridegroom’s Voice

I am an author and I understand the power of words. That is why my book, “The Bridegroom’s Voice” is a God journey, that I made sure of would be very “Word of God” inclusive. I write under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, yes, but so much better is it to end any author’s writing with getting into the Bible, for the best Voice, the Voice of God that has been proven to be able to powerfully and miraculously change transform our soul emotions from down to up, therefore changing our attitudes and actions to the best response we can give to our transitional times. That is why at the end of every section of the book, “The Bridegroom’s Voice, I gave the reader the choice and opportunity to journey through the Bible on that specific topic they just read about.

Life Changes

I am growing through a difficult life change, my emotions are roaring, the only way I have been able to side step them day by day, in order to get a clear vision of what God has said is ahead, is through the power of God’s Word transforming my soul from a worldly viewpoint to a Kingdom perspective. This is an everyday, sometimes hour to hour changing up of my emotions that has been occurring in this transitional time and is building in me a very strong patient endurance so I can grow through this emotional transitional time. So, believe me when I say that I can’t be without the Word during a life transition time or I will not make it safely through it. Truly, I can’t be without the Word of God at any time and expect to be able to “will power” my way through a growing time.

Vital-Vertical Relationship

I need God’s Word through the vital-vertical relationship with the Holy Spirit, applying it with a miraculous discernment that stills my soul. This is not an understatement. The Word is one of our personal, living connections with God and He can, He will speak directly to our soul through it and still our emotions, so we can clearly see truth, God’s discernment that leads us through these soul murky times of transition, to a very clear patient endurance as we wait on God. Nothing has changed for me on the outside, this life season is still very hard and I deal with it day by day, but on the inside there is growing a patient endurance that is subsiding my soul with a strong faith that trumps my worldly viewpoint with a really sweet kingdom perspective that I can live with, that I can patiently endure as I wait and transition through to the next season of my life.

Miraculous Musings Of KimberlyMac

Revelation 12:10-11 Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last— salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth—the one who accuses them before our God day and night. And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die. NLT

Full Out Warfare

The enemy is in full out warfare against us in this time period because truthfully, his time is growing short. Do you feel as barraged by the enemy as I do in this life season? It has been rough to stay focused on the Kingdom of God. I don’t believe in giving the enemy too much credit.

Way-Maker God

I believe God, our Way-Maker God goes before us, so every enemy challenge we face, He has defeated already and it is just purposefully being used for our good growth as we face it. The challenges we face, if we keep our eyes on Jesus, we will grow through them with great God purpose.

The greatest challenges put forth by our enemy never have the upper hand, because the God purpose in them is always greater than the challenge. God has gone before us, He has allowed and set up this God purposeful growth of our faith.

Challenged?

Are you facing a challenge right now, well no doubt about it, the enemy of your soul is behind the scenes tormenting you about it, but also, no doubt about it that God has purposefully allowed this trial to add another level of truth to your faith. God goes before us in that incredible God purposeful kind of way that only He can. Are you afraid? Written By KimberlyMac

We do face times where something dies in our lives, and no matter what it is, a dream of ours usually dies. A dream that we thought had been God given, God planted into the soil of our lives dies and even in this, there is God purpose. We are never without the purpose of God working in and through our lives for our good and the glory of His Kingdom. KimberlyMac

I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives.

John 12:24 New Living Translation (NLT)

Our Godly heritage is one of triumph over evil. Our Savior, Jesus is the prince of peace, a perfect righteousness, the best security and the only real winner. The battle belongs to Him, this battle with principalities and powers that He has ultimately already won. It is Almighty God’s battle, it is His victory and we reap the consequences of it. The name of our Victorious Savior, the name of Jesus is our powerful alliance and we need to pray it up confidently, boldly and in and with the authority of His resurrected power. KimberlyMac

The Beatitudes. Luke 6:20 Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said, “God blesses you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours. 21 God blesses you who are hungry now, for you will be satisfied. God blesses you who weep now, for in due time you will laugh. 22 What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. 23 When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, their ancestors treated the ancient prophets that same way. Sorrows Foretold 24 “What sorrow awaits you who are rich, for you have your only happiness now. 25 What sorrow awaits you who are fat and prosperous now, for a time of awful hunger awaits you. What sorrow awaits you who laugh now, for your laughing will turn to mourning and sorrow. 26 What sorrow awaits you who are praised by the crowds, for their ancestors also praised false prophets. Love for Enemies

Brian Hardin Commentary:
“Jesus is laying out the message known as “The Sermon On The Mount” As we hear it, we see so clearly that the Kingdom God that Jesus is talking about and the way it operates, the way you operate within it, is basically completely opposite to the way we live our lives, or our initial reaction to things. What Jesus says to do is normally our opposite reaction, like love your enemy, turn your other cheek to someone who has slapped you, give to anyone who asks, love your enemies, don’t judge others, you won’t be judged and give and you will receive. The opposite of what we normally do. If we will take the time to examine this scripture, overlay it with our heart, inviting the Holy Spirit, we will see how Jesus is outlining the fabric of the Kingdom and how we do or don’t operate in it. The opposite of what Jesus said to do would be: don’t love your enemies, curse those who curse you, cut off your prayer for those who hurt you, if someone slaps you, slap them back, if someone asks you for something, don’t give it to them, be unforgiving, don’t give so you don’t receive. If we look at our lives, we will see that some of these postures, they crop up. Jesus invites us to live backward to the way we are living a lot of the time, but this is how the Kingdom works. May we give the postures of our hearts some thoughts today. Jesus these are your words, the picture of your humanity, the description of the picture of heaven. We find areas we are contrary to this. We invite you into those things we say that are contrary, we release them. Come Holy Spirit change us from within and help us to live, represent, steward your Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.” Brian Hardin Daily Audio Bible Commentary

Transforming God Truth – Changing Me

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+6%3A27-28&version=VOICE

“When I overlay this scripture over my heart and ask the Holy Spirit to show me the posture of my heart, I am pretty far from it. Our cultural say-so subtly changes us and we do a slow fade away from the original way God meant for us to live. Our reactions to life situations do not resemble this scripture, in fact many times we our counter cultural to the Kingdom Way. The Word of God should stand out more than our cultural say-so because it is the Word that WILL stand stronger, longest and forever. The Word of God will never be shut up, so we must learn to be wholly-holy aligned with it.” KimberlyMac

“My Thoughts: As God Promises ~ He Does. This is why things don’t always work out in that “carbon copy” way we prayed, but they work out miraculously better for us if we patiently endure while these two God purposes are simultaneously in play. The Bridegroom’s Voice

Religious association does not connect us heart-to-heart, but only engages you on the surface, creating a rut of religiosity. Mind-alliance is not My way. Heart connection in a holy alliance with Me is My way. How intimately do you really identify with Me and experience My Presence on the days of the week besides Sunday? Knowledge of Me is simply not enough. I want to live in your heart, through your life; this has been My one desire, the purpose and intent of Our Heart: The Father-Son-Holy Spirit! Excerpt From The Book: The Bridegroom’s Voice By KimberlyMac

The Bridegroom’s Voice

http://www.thebridegroomscafe.com/thebgv-overview/

Got a stumbling block keeping you from intimacy with God? Settling for association with God instead of an intertwined heart-life in Jesus, is a huge stumbling block entitled: ritual religiosity. Where are you in this? How can you change things up. In my book: “The Bridegroom’s Voice”, Week 11 The Bridegroom Speaks About Dead Traditions. Hearing Jesus’ Voice on this has really changed things up in my journey with Him.

The heart of the Gospel is change, so in order to have a heart that is pliable and responsive to the new creative things God speaks into it, we must be intricately intertwined with God’s heart in that kind of heart to Heart personal relationship, that flows out of the issues of our lives His way, His truth, and His life. A surface relationship with God engages our will and maybe our mind full time, but does not engage our heart and this is where tradition can be a stumbling block and cause a hard heart that does not hear from God, is not changed by God and doesn’t really know God. KimberlyMac Groomsman Journal From Week 11 “The Bridegroom Speaks About Dead Traditions” #TheBridegroomsVoice

You are more than a body, don’t sell yourself short. You are a body, soul and spirit, created by GOD, intertwined with God. Collaborate with God in all ways, body, soul and spirit. You are His. You are His temple. Remember, we may all be different, have different talents, goals and futures here, but no matter what we are working towards here, our future here is only temporary. We must make sure that what we are working towards here, always involves the whole of who we are all in and all for the Kingdom of God, which is our real home. #BESo #SoulSynchronized With God #Reveal #Truth

Daily Song Inspiration

You are not responsible for what people think about you. But you are responsible for what you give them to think about you. Ritu Ghatourey

#OnThisDay we bow our heart to Jesus in that forever kind of way. Right here, right now, we will bow all things me, me, me and mine, mine, mine and we will silently submit in that powerfully humbly, simply-significantly way to You, Father God, make all things You, You, You that we may serve all things Yours, Yours, Yours. We bow all things us and rise up determined to be all things You, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, let it be so, be glorified in our all and everything, we are Yours.

Sincere people, sometimes, may not be in a position to pull you up. But, they always think of ways, not to let you fall.  Ritu Ghatourey

Growing Through Patient Endurance

By KimberlyMac

How do you patiently endure something that it has taken everything in you to “grow through” and now that time period has extended your time of transition? Well, I was extremely discouraged when I first found out that this very difficult transition was going to be lengthened. I find myself between a rock and a hard place. I can’t settle in my life between my next season and this season, I am in a transitional place. There is no moving forward and there is no moving backwards and now this time period is extended beyond what I feel I can handle.

Disappointment ~ Disappointment

So, today my choice is to stay in the disappointment of this extension or to step out of my own strength with God’s strength on this day, a strength, a direction that is held up by Him. Or I could be moody, I could roll around the mire with the disappointment and the overwhelming feelings that the change brings. Or I could change it up. I am sure that to patiently endure this new change will require less of Me, Me, Me and Mine, Mine, Mine and more of You, Jesus, less of what I want and more of You, You, You and Yours, Yours, Yours. Patient Endurance is a position that must hold a Kingdom perspective in plain sight. It is not about here, it is not about now, it is more about God, His way, His truth and His life. Living this out, being wholly-holy aligned with this is a process and in this process, I believe I will gain the strength of His Patient Endurance.

Flip ~ Flop

When I think about it, flip-flop it to His perspective, I can see that He has been so very, very patient with me and endured through my growing times, situations that I wish to forget the way I reacted to my life season. He has hung with me, He has patiently endured as I was “growing through” my childish years as a Christian and now I know He expects more than a reaction from me when things don’t go my way, He expects a response, a response to Him, a bowing of all things me, to all things Him.

Stretch ~ Stretch

What helps me patiently endure when I am already growing through a very stretching time and it gets longer, is my knowing that He directs my steps and that in this new challenge put upon me, this change that suddenly has come to take my forward momentum two steps backwards, that His purposes are also in play. I know that God’s Providential Care for me includes two purposes: He works things out for good for me and He works things out for the glory of His Kingdom.

Providential Care

This delicate balance affects me differently as God works these purposes together to providentially care for me. God purposes are always in play in my life that are good for me and glorious for His Kingdom. I can rest in this. This day the purposes of God are in play in my life and I submit to the Sovereignty of God’s Providential Care working in and through my life. When I do this, His strength becomes my strength and I can patiently endure this day even though, this change has adversely shaken up my soul. I can change it up by being a person who fleshes out my reaction, bowed before my God and rises up for this day at hand with the powerful strength of His purpose as I yield to its Kingdom way.

Yield ~ Yield

So, change happened, my transition time is going to be longer, I will either buy into my emotions or I will change things up and the end result of my soul atmosphere will be the choice I make. I begin this day with gratitude for the powerful purposes of God in play in my life and I simply-significantly determined to stay on this course of thanksgiving for everything God is in my life today and yield the floor to Him to speak truth into my life, to put my yes on the table today with Him, so wherever this day goes, I already have said YES, I will follow, I will patiently endure, I will change it up.

“Love isn’t always perfect. It isn’t a fairytale or a storybook. And it doesn’t always come easy. Love is overcoming obstacles, facing challenges, fighting to be together, holding on and never letting go. It is a short word, easy to spell, difficult to define, and impossible to live without. Love is work, but most of all, Love is realizing that every hour, every minute, and every second was worth it because you did it together. Author~Ritu Ghatourey

Luke 5:36 Then Jesus gave them this illustration: “No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and uses it to patch an old garment. For then the new garment would be ruined, and the new patch wouldn’t even match the old garment. 37 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. 38 New wine must be stored in new wineskins. 39 But no one who drinks the old wine seems to want the new wine. ‘The old is just fine,’ they say.”

Daily Audio Bible With Brian Hardin

Numbers 32: 6 “Do you intend to stay here while your brothers go across and do all the fighting?” Moses asked the men of Gad and Reuben. 7 “Why do you want to discourage the rest of the people of Israel from going across to the land the Lord has given them? 8 Your ancestors did the same thing when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to explore the land. 9 After they went up to the valley of Eshcol and explored the land, they discouraged the people of Israel from entering the land the Lord was giving them. 10 Then the Lord was very angry with them, and he vowed, 11 ‘Of all those I rescued from Egypt, no one who is twenty years old or older will ever see the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for they have not obeyed me wholeheartedly. 12 The only exceptions are Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they have wholeheartedly followed the Lord.’

My Thoughts: #EitherOR We are either going to add value to people, encourage people toward Jesus and His truth or discourage them and devalue them. Discouragement seems to be a natural path when we are not obeying God wholeheartedly. How can we add value when we are not interictally intertwined with the real life of Jesus Christ?

Numbers 32: 15 If you turn away from him like this and he abandons them again in the wilderness, you will be responsible for destroying this entire nation!

Our reactions will always bear a responsibility that can be used to kill, steal or destroy people’s lives. #PrayItUP before you react and respond in a Godly, wise, civil way.

Family Life Prayer Exhortation

Hello Family, Happy Monday to you. Bob and I feel like God has asked us to take one night a week and specifically pray for our family. It is kind of a crazy~beautiful world we are living in. Crazy because the level of lawlessness, disrespect and devalue of each other is up a bit and beautiful because our God, our amazing God is in control in that incredible way of His and no matter what He is loving us at His best ability, which can only come across to us as a lavished love.

Hello #MilitaryFamily My son while he was in the United States Marine Corps boot camp became very familiar with the “quarter deck” where he paid the penalty as a squad leader for the mistakes of his squad. He heard that familiar voice: Drop and give me 25! Today God is saying the same: Drop and Bow.

Daily Song Inspiration

#OnThisDay God is calling us to embrace Him and His purposes. Let Monday, March 20th, 2017, this miraculous day God has created for us, be a day where we stand beside God, no matter what condition we are in, grasping His Hand in ours and humbly, being led by His Holy Spirit of promise. God knows everything, so stop hiding it. We must drop our pride at the foot of the cross of Jesus and open our heart wide to God today. Why? Simply-Significantly because He has already determined our value to Him by the sacrifice made for us, as He paid the ransom for our death penalty with the life of His Son, Jesus. God see’s everything we do, yet we are still incredibly valuable to Him. This is the paradox of His great love, even and still, He loves, He loves us like He has never been hurt by us or our sin. Drop and bow. #ListenUP

Miraculous Musings Of KimberlyMac

Be the WHO God shaped you to be. You know, He gave each of us our own fingerprints, that in itself shows that He makes us special and uniquely us… I struggled with that for a long time too until I deeply realized that it did not matter what other people thought because I was completely accepted by God, what mattered most, I already had, so I stopped chasing after other people’s approval, because I already had the best approval available to mankind.

Daily Audio Bible With Brian Hardin

Numbers 30:1-31:54; Luke 4:1-30; Psalms 63:1-11; Proverbs 11:20-21 (New Living Translation)

Brian Hardin Commentary:
Let’s think about temptation for a second. What is the greatest temptation in your life. The thing you turn to find life, pleasure, fulfillment, accomplishment. What makes you feel alive, powerful, capable in your own strength? What does this look like for you? What does the wilderness look like for you? The seasons of hardship, pain or obstacles you have had to overcome. Consider a reframe of these things and times. We do everything to avoid wilderness and temptation. Not necessarily a bad thing, but let’s contextualize it in Jesus life: And Jesus full of the Holy Spirit returned from the Jordan and was led by the Holy Spirit and was tempted by satan for 4o days. Jesus did not end up in the wilderness, the Holy Spirit led Him there. We don’t know all that Jesus faced for those 40 days, other than hunger. But we do know that Jesus was tempted in everyway, just like we are. We don’t see Jesus fleeing from the wilderness, we see Him embracing and facing down the temptations. What exalts us and cultivates unhealthy pride in us. Maybe we have to face these things once and for all. This is a good invitation into the Lent Season that leads us into Easter. Lent has been practiced on the Christian Calendar for 1500 years, but not in the Bible, but things that remind us and orientate us about who we are. Lent is 40 days long. Ironic that this is the amount of time Jesus spent in His own wilderness and temptation where He is experiencing humanity completely. What are these things we keep falling down over, the things that turn us away from God? These are different for everyone. Go to this wilderness with the Holy Spirit’s power, confront these things head on and we will find they are motivated by pride, fear, doubt, core things, deep things and our behaviors, the things we turn to are an outward representation of the deeper things going on in us. We need to work through these deeper things so we end up like Jesus. Go with Jesus into Nazareth, follow Him into the synagogue and watch Him unroll the scroll that contains the book of Isaiah and hear Him say as He looks in our eyes:

Brian Hardin Commentary

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.” Could this be true of us? Jesus is inside of us, intertwined with who we are. This puts all of the other things in our lives into a context that we must achieve. Otherwise it is just a drudge through life in a very confusing manner where things just keep happening to us and we keep reacting to those things, rather than flipping the thing around like Jesus did in the wilderness saying: I know Who I am, I know Who My Father Is. I know what I have come here to do. The thing that keeps us hungry and starving inside is that we keep looking to plastic for life, I keep following the blinking lights, comparing myself to everyone else to find my identity and worth, which is wrapped up in what I can do.” Brian Hardin Commentary Daily Audio Bible

O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; Psalm 63:1 my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.

Psalm 63 I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory.3 Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! 4 I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. 5 You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy. 6 I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. 7 Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. 8 I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.

Numbers 30:3 “If a young woman makes a vow to the Lord or a pledge under oath while she is still living at her father’s home, 4 and her father hears of the vow or pledge and does not object to it, then all her vows and pledges will stand. 5 But if her father refuses to let her fulfill the vow or pledge on the day he hears of it, then all her vows and pledges will become invalid. The Lord will forgive her because her father would not let her fulfill them.

My Thoughts: It is so true, that we can plan our way, we can make vows to do or be something, but it will not stand if the Father God is not with us. We can do nothing significant that matters without God’s Favor and power with us in it. Nothing stands without God.

We can do or say whatever we want, it is our free will choice. BUT, nothing stands for long without God’s favor~power. #GODSChoiceMatters

Numbers 31 Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 “On behalf of the people of Israel, take revenge on the Midianites for leading them into idolatry. After that, you will die and join your ancestors.”

My Thoughts: The last thing Moses was asked to do was about crushing idolatry God, really wants us to be wholly-holy HIS, it is His heart’s desire. It comes through the Bible and is in every life story from beginning to end. The consequences of idolatry, it touches everyone, this sin is not gender friendly, all who sin, all who rebel against God, they die without hope. Where there is veneration of something other than God, everyone suffers. You do not sin alone. Sin consequence has a far reach.

Numbers 31: 41 Moses gave all the Lord’s share to Eleazar the priest, just as the Lord had directed him.

My Thoughts: He heard from God so clearly, led these people through the wilderness as God commanded and as God set up a new society out of people who only knew how to be slaves. Amazing.

Luke 4:1-30

The Temptation of Jesus 4 Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness,[a] 2 where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry. 3 Then the devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread.” 4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone.'[b]”5 Then the devil took him up and revealed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 “I will give you the glory of these kingdoms and authority over them,” the devil said, “because they are mine to give to anyone I please. 7 I will give it all to you if you will worship me.” 8 Jesus replied, “The Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.”

My Thoughts: It is so tempting to pursue temporary pleasures, temporary being the “key” word. Temporary is all that the enemy can offer us and it pales in the light of eternal life that our God has gifted us with.

“Our Heavenly Father delights in new beginnings, and through His grace offers us the gift of a clean slate. God’s grace is beyond our imagining! What an amazing gift He extends to us so that we may extend it to others! Lord, how amazing you are in your ability to not only forgive, but to forget our sins! It grieves me that I forget things I shouldn’t, yet remember the things I should forget. Teach me Lord, to forget the offenses of others as you forgive and forget mine.” —Adapted from Pray Like The King: Lessons from the Prayers of Israel’s Kings by David and Kim Butts. Prayer Points By Alvin VanderGriend

Praise the Lord, who is your strength, your rock, your fortress and your deliverer (Ps. 18:1-2). Give thanks that “the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength” (1 Cor. 1:25). Confess your desire to rely upon your own strength. Commit yourself to doing everything through him who gives you strength (Phil. 4:13). Ask God to cause you to serve him with the strength that he provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ (1 Pet. 4:11).

Lord, I praise You for being my strong soul rock, my spiritual fortress and my deliverer. Ps.18

The gospel is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (Rom. 1:16). Ask the Lord to apply this power to individuals whom you know are without it.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. Galatians 2:20

Self does not die by itself—I can only release control when I am crucified with Christ—on the cross self is rendered dead and powerless. Yet every day of my life self claws back with a come back, like a perpetual Rocky series—self seeks to regain status as reigning champion. Selfish ambition, self reliance, self indulgence, self promotion, self pity and self sufficiency are competitors, found even in Christian leaders who speak truth but promote self on the stage. Only with my surrender, renunciation, repentance, suffering and crucifixion with Christ will self stay dead. Boyd Baily #WisdomHunters

“We pray these thing Father with an expectant heart, we open ourselves to You completely. Show us the things You are and have been inviting us to face down squarely, to stop cowering in fear, running and hiding from everything that is uncomfortable. Rather, to face squarely and rise up into who we really are and shut these things down, because they are keeping us from the posture of heart that we see in Psalm 63, our true posture, our true longing.” Brian Hardin Daily Audio Bible Commentary

Wisdom Hunters By Boyd Dailey

“Respectful people are quick to extend respect. They do not sit back and wait for respect, but take the time to offer it. So, love God as your heavenly father and submit to Him as your Master. It is disrespectful to disregard the things of God and drive ahead in your own strength. However, respect slows down, listens to the Lord, and connects with Christ’s wisdom. You show respect by relishing your role as follower and God’s role as leader. Be respectful by way of regular prayers and following His voice of reason. Respect for the Lord leads to respect for others. This is a natural place to grow in your respect for people.” Boyd Bailey

“Respect does not mean you mutter in disagreement on the inside and smile on the outside. It means you voice your concerns and conflicting ideas clearly, concisely, and with a spirit of humility and calmness. Respect resists attacking people and instead challenges assumptions and processes, so it goes a long way in relational growth.” Boyd Bailey

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love]. Amplified Bible

The opposite of love is fear. Fear replaces love, causing disunity. The perfect love of God is an antidote to fear, it casts it out. The fear of losing control causes us to be more demanding and more controlling. Fear is at the root of all riots, all rebellion, disrespect and disunity. The more fear is lifted up above God, above His standard of righteousness, the more lawlessness comes in like a flood and disunifies. #PrayItuP We must “know God” personally and be intertwined with His Love, because this love is perfect and it casts out fear, it raises God’s standard of righteousness and it breaches the divide fear causes.

Surrender your heart to God, turn to him in prayer, and give up your sins—even those you do in secret. Then you won’t be ashamed; you will be confident and fearless. Your troubles will go away like water beneath a bridge, and your darkest night will be brighter than noon. You will rest safe and secure, filled with hope and emptied of worry. CEV Job 11:13-18
