My Constant Conversation With God
God is not messy, but I am. I try to keep up with our Constant Conversations that happen every day and that makes for a messy journal. Messy in this case is fun. I enjoy my time with God, I enjoy journaling as He speaks, I muse about it and work it out into my life. God is speaking every single day and I am making sure that I have the time to listen up. These posts about my Constant Conversation with God will be sloppy in grammar, they will be a relaxed post of sorts. We all need these kind of posts once in a while to stretch our listening imagination. I like them because they really put forth a very personal, genuine touch of vulnerability as I share truly heart felt things in my relationship with God, things that are life changings for me as God changes things up in my life.. The spelling and grammar won’t be right and the format will be pretty crazy, but please overlook it for these posts. I will apologize right now. I am sorry will not be perfect. Everything usually ends up in my personal journal, and I love the pieces from other people that God has gifted immensely and their work has intercepted with my growth. Why is it humanity sometimes leans into the feelings that we “lack” this or that? Will we ever feel we have enough? We sacrifice much in a #MilitaryFamily and we learn to live simply so we can give excellence and honor to our responsibility of serving and protecting the liberty and freedom of this country. But the truth is, we as a #militaryfamily will never have real lack, God will always provide for us in those incredible, creative ways of His. I can say, without even one doubt, that God is the Way-Maker for every military family and as we serve Him first, we know this, we know the blessing of His Favor, Wisdom, Protection, Purpose, Provision and great, great love. Lord, bless each #military family today with the sweetness and soul nourishment of Psalm 23.

The forgiveness of Jesus #OnThisDay is enough to cover the pain of offence. Jesus is enough, He can take care of all things. Be careful not to be enticed by the enemy to pervert your passions, distorting them through picking up an offense against another person. This is a day You can rely on God to be your Advocate, your Promoter of Justice. We must depend on God today in all the matters of our life, allowing His forgiveness to undergird us, giving us wisdom in the all of our every relationship. #ListenUP

Nothing Is The Same
What I knew, what I had, it is over. Have you ever found yourself saying these words: It is over. It is done. Nothing is the same. I don’t feel the same. Everything has changed. I don’t fit anymore. Are you soul restless? Are you looking for the security of sameness and you can’t find it anymore? Is what you used to be not satisfying your spirit and you feel lack? Something in your life is transitioning, this is a transition. Open your eyes to it. God is doing something new. Will you know it?
Life Transitions
I have been experiencing a life transition, a new life season is upon me and I have felt so out of sorts, so restless in every area of my life, I felt change. All the expectations that I had for me, for others, for my life, they just were not meeting that sweet spot anymore. Something has changed, and I have not changed with it. I am still back where I used to feel comfortable, but I am feeling very uncomfortable, restless and frustrated. I guess this is what it feels like to put new wine into old wineskins.
Something Has Changed
It is over. I said that the other day and I meant it. There is nothing left. I want to walk away. I don’t feel the same. Something has changed. I find myself in a new life season with old expectations nipping at my heels. I feel very unsatisfied, like I don’t fit in my flesh anymore. I know I have changed. I know things about me are different in this new season of my life where I am getting older. I feel young on the inside, but my feeling can’t carry the me that I used to be. I can’t keep up like I used too. I make more mistakes, because my short-term memory is not what it used to be. I used to be sharper. People get disappointed in me, they expect me to be something I can no longer be. I am aging. I am moving into a new life season, still trying to be the person I was in the old one. It is not possible. I can’t take on as much as I used to and do it well. So, my expectations for me, for my life, for those I am in relationship with, they have to change. I am in transition. I am stepping into a new life season and I need to change. I can’t bring the old expectations of the way things used to be into this new life season.
Changing Things Up
God is changing things up in my life and I realize, I can’t pour the new into the old expectations. I must let the old expectations die, throw them away and pick up the new, let God pour into a new vessel, the new wine. How can I be made new, when I am old, when everything I know of me, who I was, the experiences, the wisdom I have gained, pulls me back into being the me, I am comfortable being, but can no longer sustain? The heart of the Gospel is change. This was on my heart this morning as I woke up to this new day, realizing that I needed to get in step with God, I needed to let go of the old and cling to Him, the ONE Who can make all things new.
God Speaks New Things
I read John Chapter 12 in its entirety today because I woke up with a piece of the scripture on my heart. Unless a grain of wheat fall to the ground… I woke up with that on my heart the day after I battled with my expectations and had given up. Whenever I wake up with a scripture, I know it is the Lord speaking something new to me. I like to put it in context, because I know the meat of scripture revelation is found in context and the discernment I needed was found there. Take a moment and read it. John Chapter 12.

Shaped Expectations
As we live out our life seasons, we all have expectations that arise out of living and growing through and gaining life wisdom from our personal experiences. That is why everyone’s expectations are personally shaped and different from other people’s expectations. We don’t realize how much disappointment we could escape if we realized this. Personal expectations should not really be at the center of our lives, they can’t hold us up, we must give them to Jesus and let Him sort through them, giving back the ones that are viable. We come to expect much out of ourselves and much out of others that Jesus does not. The safest place for human expectation is in God’s Hands.
Can’t Go Forward Looking Backwards
In our life season transitions, expectations can derail us from the will of God. Expectations motivate us in the direction of the old, while Jesus is trying to step us out in a new way. Expectations are really tied strongly to our “feelings”, how we feel about ourselves and about others. When God is moving us into new life seasons, old expectations become stumbling blocks and deadened feelings become weights around our necks. We can’t move in the new direction, all we can do is look back with nostalgia at what used to be until we are turned totally in the wrong direction. God is moving forward and we are looking backwards, so there is no followship going on and we are missing the mark, we feel dead. Nothing feels right. Restlessness is our new best friend.
John 12: 3-5 Mary took an extraordinary amount, almost three-quarters of a pound, of very expensive perfume made of pure nard. She anointed Jesus’ feet with it, then wiped his feet dry with her hair. The house was filled with the aroma of the perfume. 4 Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (the one who was about to betray him), complained, 5 “This perfume was worth a year’s wages! Why wasn’t it sold and the money given to the poor?”
Missing The Wisdom
It has always been done this way. Why change it up? I have always been able to do this? Why can’t I do it anymore? Our transitional times between the old life season and the new life season is where we miss most of our directions because we are so focused on the old way we used to do things, the way it used to be, that we miss the wisdom God is speaking for the new way things are going to be.
7 Jesus replied, “Leave her alone. She did this in preparation for my burial. 8 You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.” NLT
Change Blocked By Old Expectations
She was breaking with the tradition of what used to be done, so God could usher in what He was about to do. Traditions need to die, expectations from what was old need to fall, so new experiences, that teach new wisdom can come through. If you find yourself in a chaotic time of life where nothing God is doing makes sense, you are in transition. Stop looking at things through the lens of “what used to be”, God is creating a new standard, will you know it? With change comes a flood of expectations that get tied up with thoughts of disappointment, discouragement and disparity and these become stumbling blocks to the new life season God is ushering in. The point of change stops at old expectations that need to fall to the ground and be buried.
Dying To Self
Change does take patience, we all know that, without a doubt. Patience does not become patient endurance without the laying down of one’s self. We have to die to self, to die to what we want, to let go and let God. Selfishness, wanting our way, things to be exactly like we planned it, this has to die in us if God can use us in the way that powerful way that He wants to use us. Our lives are not our own, we have been bought with a price, that we could never even begin to repay. Jesus died our death, so we could live His life, now we must sacrifice our life, our time usage, our way we would like to travel here, so we can bring glory to His Kingdom. It can’t be about here, our here dreams must die and we must take up God’s business, which is His Kingdom. It is not about us, it is not about here, it is all about Jesus, it is for His Kingdom. When we position ourselves in this heavenly perspective, we will be able to patiently endure.

Growing Through 2017 ~ Patient Endurance
I think patient endurance can’t effectively flow from us if our motive is tainted by selfishness. We must be completely selfless in order to for patient endurance to be empowered in our daily lives. Selflessness empowers patient endurance. When self is our focus, when all we can think about is making things work for our expected benefit, then patient endurance is out the window. Selfishness and patient endurance will not work together, they cannot unify. Self-focused we walk more in strife and are not patiently enduring. It is all about us, it is not about forbearing with one another.

Forgiveness! Matthew 18:21-22 Then Peter came to Him and asked, “Lord, how many times will my brother sin against me and I forgive him and let it go? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered him, “I say to you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven.
Forgiveness seems wimpy, but truly it is not, it is the most courageous act a Warrior can make. The deception of unforgiveness is so huge. It actually hurts us more than the person we have chosen not to forgive. Unforgiveness steals our clarity and having a clear mind is what keeps soldiers alert and alive. Our adversary is not usually the person we have not forgiven. We have a worse enemy than this, and he wants to misconstrue and malign the truth about unforgiveness. He wants to use the passion of our soul against us, to pervert it, so we can be used in illegitimate ways that distort the God given talents we have. Family Life – Prayer Exhortation
Unforgiveness leaves such a harshness in our family life. Lots of things attach itself to unforgiveness that are never fun in our family living: bitterness, strife, offense, backbiting, devaluing… YIKES may the likes of these never dawn the threshold of our family. Got A Derailed Patience?
What derails our patient endurance with each other and opens the doors to the enemy’s suggestive power? Devaluing others, it begins in our minds. Where do you think the assumptive thoughts about other people begin? I know where they end, they end in making fools of us and destroying our unity with others. These presumptions have no common sense to them, yet we accept them readily and allow them to stir up our soul negatively. We cannot patiently endure anything when we buy into the foolishness of an opinion we have formed in our mind that is void of any truth. This is purely a tactic of the enemy.
Got A Mind Taken Over?
If our mind has been taken over by the voices of the enemy, our mouth will say lead off with these words: “I think” “What if” “Let’s Speculate” “I Presume” “It Is My Opinion” “If” “They said”! When you hear these words in any sentence, you know that truth is not involved. If you want to know what a person truly has said or done, ask them. Don’t speculate, assume, presume, rationalize in your mind because these lead your mouth to be used by the enemy of your soul and stir up negative feelings that do not come out tenderly, lovingly, humbly, gently and patiently in the words and actions that follow. In fact, when you let the enemy rule your thought life with assumptive lies, then your life will not resemble God’s characteristics, but will be more like a bull in a china shop.
Got An Open Door Policy?
Shut the door of your mind to the enemy of your soul by doing a truth survey when he knocks and slithers in with assumptions. If you don’t “know it” to be true, then you tell the enemy to shut up and get out and you invite the Presence of the Holy Spirit to cleanse your mind and fill it with His truth. If you are saying “I think”, then you don’t truly know. “I think” encompasses the all of assumption, presumption and rationalization and is not relying on God’s discernment. Don’t have an open-door policy to your mind and just let every stray thought dominate your thought life. Be picky about your mind activity, and keep it active in truth and truth alone. How do I know this to be true? Go back to roots of truth. Seek truth instead of settling for less than truth. Speculation is not truth, don’t settle there, it is a dead end.
Got God’s Discernment?
When we shut the door of our mind to the enemy’s suggestions, by opening ourselves to God’s truth first, we shut our mouth valve off to assumptions, presumptions, opinions, speculations, rationalizations and open our lives up to God revealed truth. The less we let the enemy mess with our minds, the more we walk in the discernment of God’s truth, His character and His way. Let’s “Be So” like Jesus and clothe the all of us with garments sewn and held together with truth, etched in God’s tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Got Cultural Say-So Cluttering Your Mind?
We can soak our mind in the “say-so” of our culture or we can saturate it with the powerful, transforming Word of God. Open your life up to God’s Truth, to His Living Word and you will close your mind off to the enemy’s lies. We must take time to get the Word of God in our heart, therefore we won’t be carried off by everything people are saying, but we will stay true to God and stand on the side of His Truth. You can’t stand on an assumption for too long, it won’t stay together, it will disintegrate and take you down with it as it falls. Only God’s truth can stand the test of time. Declutter your mind of cultural-say so and seek after God’s truth. Cleanse your mind, purify it of everything based on the lie of assumption, presumption, speculation and say-so. Truth never clutters our mind chaotically, only lies do this. The truth is, say-so is assumptive and opinionated lies that stir up speculation based on thoughts deceptively propagated by the enemy of our soul. Stop it. Say no to assumption, speculation, presumption and say-so opinions. Say YES to God’s truth. Listen up.
Got A Vital-Vertical Relationship?
Our relationship with God is vital in these days, we should never walk alone, we should never, ever, walk without the Armor of God. We must make room for a personal relationship with God, because the result of not doing this, is God being crowded out by the thousands and thousands of relative voices of our generation and our soul being carried away with their cultural current. A soul soaked in God’s truth is a relevant soul, steeped in discernment and flowing in the purposes of God, that supernaturally sway with God characteristics. There is no better flow of truth, than with the vigor-vitality of God’s love, humility, tenderness, gentleness and patience. God has truly been patient with us. Why? Because He knows in the end, His truth will stand.
Got A Stirred-Up Soul Emotion?
The Voice of God leads us powerfully, listen up to it daily, be led by the Holy Spirit in times such as these, this is what is vital for our soul health. Our emotions are easily stirred up by all the rhetoric of this world and many times we find ourselves chasing after fake assumptions and being dead ended in discouragement. I call that the crash and burn syndrome and our enemy lives to use it on us. He makes fools out of us, this is where he gets his pleasure. If we are going to be used by anyone, let it be, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. When we are slapped with the assumptive lies of others, let us fight back with prayer. We can’t lead our fight with our mouths, because we are just as human as they are, just as susceptible to be used by the enemy. There is no difference, we are all human.
Got A False Reality?
The only Voice of Truth is God’s Voice. This is the Voice we need to pursue, pray up and speak up with. When you are hit in the face with fake news, false reality, deceptive words, our reaction is not kindness, our reaction is naturally retaliation. Truth was never meant to be dished out through retribution. We must stop the proving, the wanting to win the war rage and we must start praying it up. Prayer is the key, because a person you are praying for is a person you will not be mad with. Prayer shuts the door to our worldly viewpoint and opens the door to a Kingdom perspective. We can see better that the person who is speaking foolish deception, is not really the responsible party, they are being used by evil principalities and powers for a greater scheme, to kill, steal and destroy, the main aim of the enemy of our souls. Prayer helps us look deeper, past the people to the real problem and helps us to get real help.
Got An Ear Towards God?
If you are going to chase anything, then pursue God first and let Him direct Your ways by the wisdom, discernment, characteristics of the Kingdom of God. God’s will, God’s way. We can patiently endure and even “grow through” the smears, the fake reports, the lies, the assumptions, the presumptions, the false opinions, the irrational rationalizations, the lack of common sense, the all of the everything of foolishness of this generation’s voice, if we become one in spirit with our God and cloth ourselves with all things Him. Why do we lack faith? Why do we not believe? Because we do not listen up to God. God is speaking the truth every single moment. Do we know it? Are we listening? Are we following after God or after human say-so? What or Who we follow after, we become more like. Followship is key to being like Jesus, to wearing His characteristics on our life.
Got An Active Prayer Life?
Revealing the truth of God through our lives, this is our first cause. Our lives are not to be aligned to a political party, but wholly-holy aligned to God first. We don’t believe in ourselves, we don’t chase our interest first, but we believe in Jesus Christ and His power working in us and through us for the glory of His Kingdom. It is our responsibility to be strengthened in the power of God’s might and let Him be the strength of our lives. We must in times such as these, keep our prayer lives active from every thought to every word, from every evil accusation, to every action and from every moment to every choice, let it be for Jesus, through Jesus and unto His Kingdom. Pray it up! Our voice, our say-so matters not, simply-significantly unless it is a voice lifted up in prayer, then it matters, eternally so. Only out of prayer is there a reveal of truth that matters. The only truth that matters is God’s truth, because it is the only truth that has stood and will stand the test of time. Prayer matters because God’s truth is the result and this outcome stands forever.
Got A Life Wholly-Holy For Jesus?
Let your life be wholly-holy for Jesus in these times. Let go of every other affiliation and be holy aligned with God’s Kingdom. We are not from here, we will not stay here. Have we forgotten Whose we are and Where we belong? Be found in the glory of God’s strength, clothed in His characteristics, standing on the side of His Kingdom truth. God’s truth matters and to get to the truth of the matter, we must pray, ask and receive the discernment of God. Discernment is lacking, let’s flip flop deception so truth is on the top and deceit is on the bottom. How? By prayer, by depending on God, Who is the only true source of wisdom that stands on the side of Kingdom Truth.
Family Life – Prayer Exhortation
Very interesting and challenging times we live in and grow through in our family lives. All of us have had interesting days where we “feel” like: Okay God, this is enough, this is more than I can bear. We feel the “lack” of our humanity. But, in truth, we lack not. #OnThisDay we have everything we need, we are provided for. The sweetness of Psalm 23 is so soul nourishing for our family, let’s think on it today. Jesus, saturate our world with Your discernment, let it take over all the people and be our first response. Teach us Holy Spirit to spiritually discern first before we think on things or act out of say-so. We pray to know Your mind and purposes. Cause everyone to fully face Your revelation and etch it in our minds.

Jesus, name above all cultural say-so, we pray our lives to be pointed up in the direction of You, to be wholly-holy for You and Your Kingdom. May we put You first, know You first, listen to You, first, live for you first. Teach us Holy Spirit from every moment to every choice the sweet and powerful fellowship of followship. Help us to be found in Jesus, being about His Kingdom business.

Jesus, cause each one of us to flow in the thought patterns of Kingdom truth. Rise us up to be destroyers of everything thought that exalts itself above Your truth and wisdom. May the knowledge of God flood us as we know Him better, love Him more and most. Jesus may every thought be bound by obedience to You and Your truth. Speak what is true to us, cause Your people to loudly hear truth above all the ruckus of society’s voices.

Jesus, I pray the nature of Your deity would transform our human condition. Make us servants, like You, Jesus. Holy Spirit cleanse us of all things us and cause the shape of selflessness to be molded in our mind sets, in our words and through our actions. Let humility step on the pride in our human spirit and crush it. Empty us of all things us and fill us with the power of Your Holy Spirit that causes us to obey forward, becoming selfless and full of God’s way, truth and life.
Ephesians 6:10-13 New Living Translation
The Whole Armor of God 10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we[a] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Jesus, I pray You deploy us into this world as light and truth. Help us Father God, to suit up in the God Armor, you have so graciously provided. Holy Spirit stand with us, so we do not waiver or lose our way. Give us the discernment we need to see with spiritual eyes so we do not take up an offense against people, but we get offensive against the real enemy of our souls. Father God send forth Your warring angels to fight against the principalities and powers of deceit, to destroy, thwart and keep them at bay. Light Up the truth by the power of Your Holy Spirit, Jesus and unearth every hidden secreted thing that deceptively sways our humanity. We pray for a keen discernment in times such as these, so we can resist deception, resist offense and stand firm on the side of truth. Let it be so.
