Betrayed

Immediately while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, came up accompanied by a crowd with swords and clubs, who were from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. Now he who was betraying Him had given them a signal, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the one; seize Him and lead Him away under guard.” After coming, Judas immediately went to Him, saying, “Rabbi!” and kissed Him. Mark 14:43-45

Elbert LaGrew Posted The Above Picture On His Facebook In Combination with This Scripture: Luke 22:48: Betrayest thou the Son of Man with a kiss?”

I Looked At It, and said the scripture, over and over in my head, immediately my spirit was grieved and then I read the scripture again and thought, I too at several times in my life have made the choice to betray Jesus. My heart was so grieved, so very grieved as I saw in the picture, the pain in the face of Jesus and the remorse already so visible in the emotional lines of Judas’s body.

I Just Can’t Imagine being Judas at that moment, but we have all been there, haven’t we? I know for myself, that I have listened to lies of the enemy and made really bad choices in my past! I am thinking that the battle begins much earlier than that picture portrays, it began when Judas first began listening to the lies, when he mulled them over, and over in his mind until they became dangerous strongholds in his thinking, with the power to change his attitude and his actions in the opposite direction of what he believed and knew, had experienced to be true. Lord, Jesus, in the light of the revelation and anointing on this picture, on this precept of Your Scripture, my heart desperately cries out to You, to Your Holy Spirit in me, and I plead in prayer asking You to cause us to guard our hearts with all diligence by the power of Your Holy Spirit’s influence in our lives, because I know, I know that out of my heart flows the issues of my life. I so desire the issues of my life to lean into God’s Sovereign Sway, to be the goodness of His Kingdom.

Wow, Such An Anointed Picture, look at it, let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart through it. It speaks volumes to me! I look at that picture and I think: Ouch, our humanity hurts! Our human condition hurts us and it hurts our Jesus. In response to this painful glance of our humanity in action, I pray, wholly-holy “fleshed out” before you Lord God and I ask you Jesus to make us less and bend our will, shape our lives to be like YOU more. Less finite, more of Your characteristics. Jesus may we consistently and habitually be Wholly-Holy Yours in the all of Your everything.

My Miraculous Musing continues to say that this is such an anointed picture, and yes it does speak volumes of our human nature and how easily we are swayed by the enemy when our lives are so tied to the things of this earth! We see things from a worldly viewpoint, we must start seeing things through God’s Kingdom perspective and acting like we belong to His Kingdom and not this world.

Jesus Lead Us to start pulling up our roots here in this world, we don’t belong here, we belong in The Kingdom. Cause us Holy Spirit to cling to the cross of Jesus Christ! Lord I know we should not be leaning into our worldly view point, we must lean into Your Sovereign Sway, clinging to Jesus, digging our life roots deeply in Your Kingdom. How easy it is for us to become like Judas. God forbid! Help us Lord God to crucify our flesh, to die to our selfishness and to live wholly-holy unto You.

Take A Miraculous Musing Moment And Water Your Spirit In These Scriptures:

And in the face of such oppression and suffering—silence. Not a word of protest, not a finger raised to stop it. Like a sheep to a shearing, like a lamb to be slaughtered, he went—oh so quietly, oh so willingly. Isaiah 53:7 The Voice

If it were just an enemy sneering at me, I could take it. If it were just someone who has always hated me, treating me like dirt, I’d simply hide away. But it is you! A man like me, my old friend, my companion. We enjoyed sweet conversation, walking together in the house of God among the pressing crowds. Psalms 55:12-14 The Voice

While they were eating, he said, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.” Greatly distressed, each one asked in turn, “Am I the one, Lord?” He replied, “One of you who has just eaten from this bowl with me will betray me. For the Son of Man must die, as the Scriptures declared long ago. But how terrible it will be for the one who betrays him. It would be far better for that man if he had never been born!” Matthew 26:21-24 New Living Translation

Now it is rare to find someone willing to die for an upright person, although it’s possible that someone may give up his life for one who is truly good. But think about this: while we were wasting our lives in sin, God revealed His powerful love to us in a tangible display—the Anointed One died for us. As a result, the blood of Jesus has made us right with God now, and certainly we will be rescued by Him from God’s wrath in the future. Romans 5:7-9 The Voice

Sin is never more grotesque than it is in the life of Judas. When we study Judas and his motivations, we are prying very close to the activity of Satan. But there are valuable reasons for examining Judas and his sin. For one thing, to understand Jesus’ love in its fullness, it helps to look at the life of Judas, because despite the awfulness of Judas’ sin, Jesus reached out to him in love.
