Be Still

BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD!

(Psalm 46)

Be still, My mind;

Be still, My soul;

and know My Spirit,

That God is in control.

Oh eyes, don’t focus on outward conditions,

Oh mind, don’t wonder about “Why Me”?

Oh body, just get yourself before the Lord,

Oh will, face down on bended knee.

Jesus, my soul bows before You,

and my spirit is wet with Your morning dew;

as I feed on my manna provided by You.

My mind humbly submits to Your powerful will.

As I sit silently in the dawn quiet and still;

I look to The Light, and my silhouette is filled.

My heart responds to the touch of Your hand;

my soul celebrates in the joy of Your love;

My mind is set on Your Kingdom above.

Yet as I sit submissively in the potter’s chair;

my enemy conspires and plans from his lair.

The battle for My mind begins to rage,

Yet I know the King of Kings is living within;

and the conflict is His, one He is able to win.

My enemy strikes out with his odious strife;

yet worry is thrust out, no more in my life.

This Jesus, who was able to eradicate all sin;

has proven again, He will always win.

Quiet and peaceful in the Presence of My King;

my soul is steady as I soar on His Wing.

My heart flies higher than all earthly strife;

And My Spirit is set free in His eternal life.

So here I sit… calm, silent and still

On the wings of an eagle, forever fulfilled!

Selah!
