Anchor

Let All That I Am Wait Quietly Before God, For My Hope Is In Him. Psalm 62:5 NLT

Harbor Of Safety

Our self-made safety is a harbor that keeps us trapped and we don’t experience the enlarging of our territory that comes from the influence of God. As we give God total access to our lives, we begin to see a stretching of our faith territory. There have been seasons of times where I have chosen to hibernate in the dark and listen only to the voices of the night, never experiencing the dawn of God’s light upon my darkness. This always is a self-inflicted isolation and a time zone of no spiritual growth.

Hopeless Hermit

Has hopelessness ever been a chain on your soul joy that you were not able to break free from? Hopelessness is the state of a hermit, who hides from the reality of truth, and is tossed to and fro by fear, unbelief and despair. In a self-created isolation, I found myself in a position that knew no courage, heard no truth, and had no soul-anchor in the tumultuous winds of change. I isolated myself from change and still, fear kept nipping at my heels. I needed a Savior. He came to me. He set me free. He is my Anchor of hope.

EASE me down the path of Your truth. FEED me Your word because You are the True God who has saved me. I wait all day long, hoping, trusting in You. Psalm 25:5 The Voice

Alone And Courageous

Alone? This is not a time to shut out the call of God for spiritual adventure. Followship is a courageous step, where we face our fear, we stare it down with a strong focus of Kingdom Truth. Our soul will be stretched, and our faith will gain new territory, as we give God total access to our life-lead and He ushers us forward into new things. Total Access given to God, assures us of a new courage, one we don’t have to willfully muster up and one we never dreamed of having. God will do something new in us, and it will be a great God Adventure.

He has given us both his promise and his oath, two things we can completely count on, for it is impossible for God to tell a lie. Now all those who flee to him to save them can take new courage when they hear such assurances from God; now they can know without doubt that he will give them the salvation he has promised them. This certain hope of being saved is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls, connecting us with God himself behind the sacred curtains of heaven. Hebrews 6:18-19 LB

Shadow Of Fear

The reality of our truth is always undergirded by God’s revealed truth. As the Holy Spirit of God speaks light into our darkness, His Truth, His Promise, His Hope draws us out of the shadows of fear, and we leave behind our need for a safe place. We can now step out into the deeper waters, grasping the Hand of the only One who can anchor our soul in times such as these. The reality of our truth is there is nothing to fear, our Way-Maker God has gone before us, made a way for us a way of growth, wisdom and adventure.

Jabez cried to the God of Israel, saying, Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and You would keep me from evil so it might not hurt me! And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:10 Amplified Bible

Stormy Battles

The battles will come to test our faith and stretch our souls beyond what we think we can emotionally endure, yet God’s Spirit and truth will anchor our soul in that way only He can. Voices of the night will NOT tear us from the fight, will not disrupt our courage, will never extinguish the light of God’s Word of truth in us, as we follow after God, hopefully so in belief, with our identity wholly-holy in Him.

Leaving The Safe Harbor

I have left the harbor, my safe place, alone, in the exploration of the new adventure God has for me. I will grow through, I will sail on to deeper waters, my faith will increase in this new territory, and my soul will stretch its tent pegs in this new life season. I know, anchored to God’s hope, the winds of worldly change, will not be my navigator, Jesus Christ will be so. God is my husband, He is my Advocate in every storm and He will be with me and for me. As I grow through this new God Adventure, I will listen up to my Bridegroom’s Voice and I will grow through, and just as He planned, my destiny will purposefully be fulfilled.
