Romans 5:3-6 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. 6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

Man still retains within himself the need to love a perfect object that will never disappoint him and to be himself loved totally and unconditionally. These needs can be met only in a relationship with God Himself. Otherwise, we go on demanding unattainable absolutes from human beings. Tom Marshall
Disappointment = Distraction!
Disappointment is a huge distraction, keeping us from the purposes of God. Oh that we might know God! There is nothing compared to Him and His Purpose. People will always disappoint us, it is the human condition. We must set our hearts on God and His purposes and not let people distract us from it. God is the only one who can change people and we must learn to put our hopes and expectations in God.Disappointment Is Inevitable!
It is inevitable that people will disappoint us, discourage us. Offenses will come and we can’t let them distract us from our God and the purposes He has for us. Jesus lived His life giving His time to people, but never allowed people to control His time or distract Him from His vision-purpose-destiny. Disappointment, disillusionment, discouragement and even betrayal did not stop Him from completing His destiny.Talk It Up To God!
Unto You, Lord Jesus, do I bring my life! Disappointment comes because of my perspective. Show me Your ways, teach me Your paths, guide me in your truth and disappointment will never shame me or deal treacherously with me. You are the God of my salvation and if I wait and when I wait-hope-expect, it will be on You, Jesus! Lord God, I place my expectations in you all day - this day and forever and pray You keep me moving forward in Your purposes towards my kingdom destiny.
Bitterness is a habit that can seriously hinder our spiritual journey. When life becomes difficult, when it doesn't seem as if God is providing for our needs, when we're not getting what we want when we want it, we have a decision to make. We can hold onto our faith and trust that God has an answer in mind, or we can gripe and moan and complain and let our souls become embittered. Expecting an oasis, but finding a bitter stream? Don't lose sight of the grace of God. - (Beside A Quiet Stream) Penelope J. Stokes

Disappointed? Cling To God!
When disappointment strikes at my heart, I must grasp and hold tightly to Jesus Christ, clinging harder and digging my roots deeper in His love! The best thing I could ever do is to place all my hopes and expectations in Jesus, choosing to walk in His grace as I firmly-safely stand unmoved as the trials and tribulations of this life produce patient-unswerving endurance in me. During the hard times of life, I hope for a persevering-endurance that Jesus uses to develop His character in me. I hope to have tried integrity and approved faith. I deeply desire to develop the eternal habit of joyful and confident hope in the future that Jesus procured for me when I did not deserve it.Disappointment=Course Change!
Disappointments can shape us or take us off course as we focus on ourselves. Jesus’ life was not about Himself at all! Jesus sacrificed all for us and bought for us a hope that never disappoints or shames us! The choice is mine! Do I accept this hope that was given freely to me just as if I never sinned, this hope that I do not deserve, or do I focus on the disappointment I am growing through? Am I making room for the discouragement in my heart, by pushing out God’s peace and focusing on me? Oh poor me! Am I giving all access to what I want as I try to appease my flesh and make it comfortable in a difficult situation.
Every thing that a man leans upon but God, will be a dart that will certainly pierce his heart through and through. He, who leans only upon Christ, lives the highest, choicest, safest, and sweetest life.
Thomas Brooks
