Psalm 25:1-5
Unto You, O Lord, do I bring my life.2 O my God, I trust, lean on, rely on, and am confident in You. Let me not be put to shame or [my hope in You] be disappointed; let not my enemies triumph over me.3 Yes, let none who trust and wait hopefully and look for You be put to shame or be disappointed; let them be ashamed who forsake the right or deal treacherously without cause.4 Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.5 Guide me in Your truth and faithfulness and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You [You only and altogether] do I wait [expectantly] all the day long.

When I get disappointed, I tend to draw away from God instead of clinging harder. I dig my roots deeply into the soil of disappointment, which eventually causes me to just dry up, because there is no nourishment for my soul in disappointment which is a dry and weary place!

This scripture truly shows the way to deal with disappointment: Unto You, Father God, do I bring my life! It is my perspective that needs to be changed! Disappointment comes on stronger, leaving me with a heavy burden because of the way I am perceiving things! I need to see things out of the lens of God's Truth!

The first thing I should do when disappointment shows up is give God the disolutionment and all the dashed expectations! The second thing I should do is specifically pray, asking Him: Lord God, reveal yourself to Me in this disappointing time and show me Your ways, teach me Your paths, guide me in Your truth and don’t let this disappointment shame me or deal treacherously with me.

Then of course I need to finish what I started! Never forget the final step of this prayer: I need to put my expectations in God’s Hands! Lord, You are the God of my salvation and if I wait and when I wait, it will be on You; I place my expectations in you all day– this day!

Hosea 6:3
Oh, that we might know the LORD! Let us press on to know him! Then he will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.

Are You Disappointed?
No matter how disappointed you are feeling or how much you are hurting, know that every heartache and loss has within it the seeds of opportunity. Hidden within each disappointment is a peal of great price, that, when found, will totally dwarf your problem. The greatest success stories are written by people who, against seemingly overwhelming and often insurmountable odds, have accepted their trials and turned them into opportunities for personal growth and stepping stones on their pathway to success. With God's help you can do the same. Trust him and choose friends who will empower you to do so.
